While working over seas I had the honor to talk and sit down with the Gen. in reguards with the job of building up the country of Iraq's police department and the road he wanted to take and the job as a civilian police officer to use in training such police officers.

The Gen. was very into what we as civilian police officers wanted to do and agreed that all training for the police should be inline with how a civilian police force would work in Iraq.

I have learned from the Gen. and his ideals of how to be a great leader, in the way he talks to his men under him, this day in the news come as a shock and the reason of why he is quiting as Director of the CIA.

We as Americans are going to lose the one bright hope in information gathering by his quiting, as far as the reasons I think they are false and it is just a storing to tell the press who would other wise not report the truth.

And that is the information that he was told to tell the House Intelligence Committee on September 14, went against his honor and the ideal that he was going to work for this WH just was not going to end well.

So be it if he was an affair with another woman where is she who is she and why did she not come out of the closet and tell her story, just not what seems to be what is happening.

There is more to this then meets the eyes !

Also at the same time as this report we hear of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and press secretary Jay Carney getting ready to jump ship.

If your from the right it's the rats leaving the ship before it goes down and takes them with it, that ship being the USA.(for you HM)

Who else is going to quit this WH and get out before it brings them down, and who is this WH going to put in the places of the openings?

Are you insinuating that a man as honorable as General Petraeus would lie about the reason he is quitting? Do you really believe that he would admit to an extra-marital affair that actually never happened? I think he has more honor and dignity than that. There are a thousand other "cover stories" that could have been used. Why settle on one as dishonorable as adultery? And why would he be part of a coverup?

As for the "rats" leaving the sinking ship, it's traditional for many cabinet members to resign at the end of one term. Do your research. This is nothing new.

So if you don't believe what is being said, then you must believe that Petraeus is lying and participating in a coverup.

Either he's telling the truth or he's lying. Those are the only choices, and you've said you don't believe he's telling the truth.

Your so right, he lied about this tell of his reasons for quiting the CIA, this is just a small lye told to get out from under a commander in chief that has lost touch with what a CIA Directors job is and to save face this is the cover story.

Do so he is still a great leader and you can fight or attck me over this don't really give a sh!t go for it!

And yes you fool he knows more then what is being told by this WH in the killing of a US ambassador and to keep from telling he fell on his sword.

As I have said, he is a great leader and even with this story being told by him and others I still not think it's the truth.

Now we can keep going this route or you can join Havemercy and go piss off !!!

I too served with a high profile contractor in iraq and would not doubt this is a concocted story at all after all the stuff that has been masked over the last roughly ten years. What makes it more sensible is the re-election of hussein obama.
He is evil. He has ill intent for the U.S. and I think the worst is yet too come.

People in the CIA do play games~use pawns~take on many roles~fake it to make it~and yes are taught if operators to lie lie lie lie and if all else fails deny deny deny. As a General in active Army not the case but as a retired General head of CIA the thought of lying and denial would go along with job description. I too have met him and think if is a great man of great character. Affair or no affair there is got to be more to the story. I thought for sure this was a man who would run as President some day. More to the story I am sure and he is just another Victim.

You cynics amaze me. In the same sentence you say what a great man of great character Petraeus is, and then you accuse him of being a liar. Astonishing!

Have you known anyone in the CIA? Do you understand what CIA is. Do me a favor go to the CIA web page look at procedure for application process~it states tell no one about your interest if selected for interview? Lying for CIA or the country is not a bad thing all the time. It goes with job. You are the one stating he is a bad man if he lied not us. Having an affair does not make you a failure as the CIA director if true. Lying as a CIA agent does not make you bad? Really thought you were smarter then that. CIA does lie and coverup, its their job. But what is odd is his stepping down over an affair~so what it happens. Thats not why he is leaving dont believe it for a minute. And yes if you are told to lie for the good of your government sometimes good mostly bad~you lie. If you are CIA and told to coverup~ you do it. You dont get involved with CIA and question what your told.

Surely, if this is just a cover story, someone could have come up with something less embarrassing, less scandalous than an extra-marital affair. He could have said he was resigning for health reasons, or to spend more time with his wife, or a thousand other things that would have preserved his dignity and honor.

The truth is, the FBI is investigating the woman who wrote Petraeus's biography for trying to hack his e-mail account and gain access to classified information. Petraeus could see the writing on the wall: if the investigation continued and the FBI started really turning the screws on this woman, she was probably going to tell them about the affair in order to try and save herself. So to head off a REAL cover-up claim, Petraeus did the honorable thing and came clean about the affair before she could implicate him.

Bembh is a democrap and does not understand the workings of the CIA and for the ones that do kind of understand he/she just can't get their head around it.

The point of this is that we have lost a very great leader in the CIA because of the lack of a commander in chief that understands the CIA just like Bembh, not at all!

Yes he lied, but this is a lie that was orcastrated by some that needed for the Gen. to get out of this sinking ship.

I would trust this man with my life if it ever came down too it which that is really far fitched but the respect for his leadership is just that strong.

You would follow Barry as most of the uninformed voters who voted for him did and want four more years of the tearing down of American.

We can only pray that the killing of the US ambassador does not get pushed under the rug and that the truth comes out that the WH knew of what was happening, attempted to covver it up or misdirect the news until the election was over because of the lack of security for the ambassador.

This one can not be blamed on Bush this is his BARRY has to lay clam to this one 30 plus years without an ambassador being killed and it's on his watch !!

But I guess that does not matter to democraps!

Either way you spin it he's either an liar or an adulterer...and neither one makes a good man....I also think the General has more dignity & integrity than to tell a lie even if he's told to about something that "never happened".

Ghost sniper, you really sound like a legit retard. Your little conspiracy theory has you talking out of both sides of your mouth. Also, the CIA heavily frowns on such things as alcoholism and extra marital affairs. Especially for the people at the top of the company for a lot of reasons. It's not like he was an undercover field operative that could hide in anonymity.

what the hell are you talking about havemercy? i have met the general and serval others you dumb dbag. he was col of 1st/504th. something you know nothing about. i normally dont respond to you because its pointless. maybe bembh can explain the northern europe concept to you. if you understood what is going on you would see~ our country to trying to mock socialist ideals from europe. which are not all bad but what i said and say again " the taxes in norway, sweeden and other places have such great benefits as free healthcare and such, have high high taxes. it seems you know nothing. as for the general and CIA, you know good and well our country does things for the good of democracy that we dont always know about~sometimes good sometimes bad. coverups and lying takes place in america. CIA is an organization based on secrets, coverups and yes sometimes lying for the good of the country or yes the president. lying to protect your country or president is expected sometimes whether good or bad. i know people who are cia however they tell people they are not. but i have known them for 30yrs~ they work everyday lies such as business men, artist, postmen, they dont walk around posting "cia operative" infact many guys in blackwater were cia but under blackwater. if you asked them where or who they work for they would say blackwater not cia. the general was set up no doubt and taking the fall. just like the other general who was fired over lybia. bembh i say to you because you obviously have some sense~ research things i have stated and let me know what you find. lybia is a coverup and more then one leader has taken the fall. have mercy i will not waste my time on you~ gibber all you want. affairs happen all the time not the reason he stepped down. if you think cia do not watch each other your crazy, heck they will tell you who you can have relations to, if they feel someone in your life is a threat to job you dont get in to cia or you are told to cut contact with them. so to say he is stepping down or fired over affair is simply a lie and illogical. thats how it is.

So are you saying he is honorable or dishonorable? Maybe an honorable man who did an dishonorable thing? Which, by the way is an oxymoron.
