Air Line State Park Trails Good For Riding Horses

I had the pleasure of riding Annie on the Air Line trail last weekend through Marlborough , Colchester and Hebron .

Yes, well as someone who walks it quite often, I have to be honest - the little jerks who ride their ATVs and motorcycles have taken over. Troop K needs to do something about them riding up and down the airline trail. I witnessed this young mother running from them with her infant held close as they were doing spin outs on the trail with their bikes. Very disrespectful kids in these parts. The police need to step it up and enforce the law.

How can we help to get/keep trails more horse friendly? Boonie, give us some numbers and names to contact. Besides that, I have to think that (most) ATVS and motorcycles operators are in no way horse friendly!

oh gosh! my family and i just did a 6-mile hike along airline thanks to the DEP's "No CHild Left Indoors Great Park Pursuit" hike~! All I kept saying was, I wish I was here on horseback!! It was absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend it!

PS: We started in Hebron or Coventry (OK, I can't remember which!) and NEVER saw a single ATV rider or any motorized rider...BTW--there's NO motorcycle riding allowed, so lay off the bikers!!! and there is fresh water for your 4-legged pal too, so enjoy!!

WHy is it bad for dog owners to leave their dogs waste on the trail, but horses its ok?
