10-Year-Old Gives Birth After Alleged Rape by Illegal

ST. ANTHONY, Idaho - A suspected illegal immigrant has been charged with raping a 10-year-old girl who later gave birth in eastern Idaho.

Something to think about. If 10,000 mexicans cross the border illegally, they are looking for a better life but if 10,000 mexicans dressed in the same uniform cross the border it's an invasion and our govt would react. I say we need to use the southern border of the US as training for our military. Why do we have military bases in NC,GA,IL,etc. when the real threat to our country comes from mexico? What better place do we have to train for wars than in AZ,NM,southern CA, and western TX?

They are looked at for what they are and thats illegals. In their culture, its alright to treat women and girls 8-80 however they want. Everyone can commit crimes but these people commited one in order to be here. I wish local law enforcement could do something about it

I guess it boils down to this question. Would the young girl have been raped IF the illegal person was not allowed to be in the United States?? Had he been stopped at the border, the little girl wouldn't have been raped by him. You know the old saying "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". We need to take back OUR country before we (US Citizens) have to learn a second or third language just to shop at Home Depot or Walmart or order a burger at McDonalds!!
I can't remember the exact figures but it cost money to have everything printed in 2 languages and that cost is passed on to the customer. So, you and I are paying more for products because people come into this country and don't try to learn English. How sad is that...

The man who committed this crime needs to be put out of his misery. Illegal or not. You can't tell me this wouldn't have happened if there weren't any illegals in this country. There are many sick people in this nation. What is wrong with learning a second language, it's something you are not willing to try, but you have no problem demanding it from other people. I am born and raised in Idaho, my parents are from Texas born and raised. But if you saw me (Dark skin and Black hair) in Wal-Mart, would you think, there goes a fellow American or would you think, get out of my country? Maybe it's you that has a problem. You may say OUR country, but do you really have any idea what OUR country is? We Latinos are the largest minority in the US, get used to it, we aren't going anywhere. Maybe it's time YOU do some adjusting to better fit in, instead of expecting people to adjust to you. Just a thought!

As far as having a second language printed on products, THINK!-for just a second!!!!!!!!!! Just maybe, and I mean just maybe, these products are sold in other countries too. Maybe consumers in other countries are thinking the same thing you are--about the English label.

Actually, both pro and anti illegal immigration proponents on this thread are missing the clear point. Regardless the race or national origin of the perpetrator, criminals are criminals and should be punished to the full extent of the law (especially for a heinous crime such as this).

However, this case highlights a broader concern. Part of the inherently problematic nature of illegal immigration is that criminal justice systems must be able to keep track of citizens who have proclivities to commit crimes. If a nation has porous borders, aside from the plethora of other problems, there is no accountability for the persons crossing that border in violation of law. In addition, it is impossible to track criminal records across years for individuals we do not know are here. There too many issues regarding illegally entering the country to be addressed here, but this is the obvious lesson of the Utah case.

"Latino," it is better to argue your case a little more subtly, or you just make people mad.:-) At the same time, I realize that you must experience discrimination by people who make assumptions about your immigration status, and that has to be maddening. But I used to live out west too (in Colorado), and the polls in the area consistently indicated that long term latino citizens are just as indignant about illegal immigration as non-latinos are!

I think that the issue about language is multi-faceted, AND I am continually amazed that latino activists do not push for full english assimilation for their kids. Repeated studies show that English is still the language of international commerce, and refusing to become proficient (I'm not talking about those that have just arrived and are in process of learning) simply dooms an entire group of people to marginalized social status. These "dual language education" policies out there are actually counterproductive and I wonder about the true motives of these liberal elites. Is it, perhaps, that they really want a permanent underclass to serve their economic needs? Something to think about.

Sorry for the length of this baby. I didn't mean to engage in protracted debate....just provide a voice of reason.

PS--Your argument about packaging for international trade works only to a point. If we are talking about inter-North American trade, then French would also be printed prominently on all packaging.

To say all illegal immigrants are plotting to commit crimes as horrid as this is ridicules and if we all are planning to think this way then perhaps we should all leave this country-Because guess what people we all would not be here in America if our ancestors had not murdered the Native Americans and Mexicans that had truly owned it before our ancestors decided to come here from across seas to make a better life for themselves too!
