This writer can't see how the suffolk county police department can withdraw the homicide squad from any sector in suffolk county.
parenthetically let it be said: this squad happens to be one of the best in the nation. all other services are on the table for discussion. homicide being not one of them- ever. JOHN W BUGLER BUGLER.ORG |

Why quote the Amityville police anything? The Village of Amityville is in the extreme west part of Suffolk County and would not be affected by this decision, as it is not part of the 5 Eastern Towns and their respective villages, that would be affected by this decision.

Learn to read before you type. There are many incorporated villages within the 5 western towns of the police district that receive detective and specialty squad coverage from SCPD. Most felonies in Amityville village are handled by the 1st Squad SCPD detectives, just as the 2nd covers Northport Village, Huntington Bay, Loyds Neck etc. Put differently, Dormer's knee jerk reaction would most definitely affect the Village PDs in the 5 Western Towns of the Police District. Don't be so hard on Dicky Dormer the performer. He hasn't had an original thought of his own in years. He's just a puppet of Stevie Levy and is subservient to Levy's lap dog Ponzo. |

This is just a cover-up for the decades old practice of paying for these services out of the police district fund instead of out of the general police headquarters fun that is paid by all county taxpayers and is a right to be afforded to the towns that have their own police departments. The police district fund is only paid by those towns and areas that are part of the county police "district" Any services that go to police agencies outside of the "district" ought to go under the HQ fund.

this is typical of Levy and his posse. Having his guys do the deed why he keeps himself distanced in case of fallout.....and the legislature is no help.
