Shuttup Moron. I am a close friend of the family. His house was recently vandalised, with someone spray painting the Star of David on his property. Whoever did this just went down to his level. Stupid ass'. Matthew is a good kid, he just got invovled with the wrong people.(He is also not a skinhead, he has had a haircut like that for a few years....)

You don't know this young boy. He is an honor student, and a typical 17 year old. He is a victom here too. Nobody deserves this treatment. Everyone deserves a second chance. Matthew never would have done this on his own. He was co-erced

Delightful, special boy, that.
Who at staples said that?? Someone who was cought up in Newsdays sensationalism? A kid behind the cash register? Or maybe the Newsday reporter made it up??? It's not true. He wanted to join the NAVY, not the Army or the Marines. he wanted to be an officer. Enough already. How much can a child take. He made a stupid mistake.

I agree Matthew is a good kid. that John guy though is admittidly mentally ill & a member of a hate group. they should prosecute John, not Matthew.

I love how all these people who supposedly know these guys are stepping forward and giving the "West Side Story" defense. So where were all of YOU when they were making all these "mistakes", hmmm?
You assume "THEY" did it. Perhaps one did it & the other was in the wrong place at the wrong time. My bet would be the guy who said on his myspace page that he was a member of the group did it. That would be John's myspace page. Don't hang someone just because he was arrested. This is why we have trials in court, not the newspapers.

I can attest to all you need is love's previous comments. Certainly, such a crime has no place in this world. By no means should anti-semetism be defended. With that said, I think it would be presumptuous to identify both parties as guilty or responsible. I have known the younger individual involved for quite some time, and these action do not fit with his character whatsoever. His grades had been top notch, and he had noble aspirations following graduation and college. I honestly rolled my eyes at the quote from Staples - easily someone trying to get a quote in the paper and feeding into the media rabble. The other individual involved is shown to have a history with such hate-related groups and issues, and being several years older, could easily coerce a younger, more easily-influenced youth. If he truly is tied to hate crime groups, it is clear who the responsible party is. The younger kid looks like he made a dumb mistake being around this clown, and I highly doubt he'd make such a mistake again.

There were no innocent mistakes made here. They're both scum, and they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of law.

Ok some of these posts are horrible. Matt and I have been friends since December 26, 2005 when we both went to a leadership academy for seacadets. We talked often but in 2006-2007 we stopped talking for a while until October 21. He told me everything that had happened to him and I couldnt believe what I was hearing. He has always been this great guy that would never hurt anyone. We started dating October 28, 2007 and our relationship was affected alot by his past because sometimes he couldnt come see me but throughout our relationship he has showed me that he can love a person with his whole self. Matt is the smartest guy I know, we always disgussed about history and politics and let me tell you, he has a great head on his shoulders. I was born in Italy and I sometimes have a hard time with school so he was always helping me understand and he has also had my back and always made me laugh when I was sad about my brothers cancer. Not only has he helped me but he has helped the people who need him. He has always been involved in cancer walks and many others. One time he even helped this old lady at a store. He has this funny and great personality and I consider my self lucky to know him and if you got to know him too I can guarantee you that youd know that he would never do anything like that. You cant judge someone by what people tell you. Maybe the other guy was a piece of shit but to say that Matt is at his level is totally bullshit. He deserves to be treated better just like everyone else with diffrent religion and diffrent views. If we have to be nice to African Americans and Jewish just because of their suffering then we should respect Italians and Irish for the way we were treated when we first came to America (I'm still discriminated to this day because of who I am and am sometimes told to go back to my country), and not to mention the Chinese because they were treated awfully. Many wars are triggered by hatred do you all really want to start something? Follow the word of God he is the only good one because he forgives everyone who wants to be forgiven and although Matt has'nt done anything wrong he still prays to God for forgiveness, for my brother, and for everyone outthere.

Ive known John Since December 10th 2006 when he started dating my older sister kylie. He is not the monster portrayed by the media and certain individuals. He is one of the sweetest kindest most caring individuals I ever met. Sadly Kylie and Johns Relationship ended when Kylie died may 15th 2008. While they dated John was so loving and caring towards my sister. My sister had a serious heroin problem. Although John Used drugs he never used heroin and always encouraged kylie to stop using it. When she would stop and had withdrawals he was always by her side holding her and comforting her in her time of need. He is a really good person. How could someone who hates jews care for us. Were jewish. And john loved and cared for us. I saw him at the pharmacy after my sister died and he hugged me and we cried on eachothers shoulders. He told me to be strong and keep my head up. If you don't know john don't say nething bad about him. I know him very well and he is a wonderful person.

if he truely wanted to join the Navy, he would have known that at 17 years old, you cant lean on the "young and stupid crutch" he is a dirtbag, if he really wanted to serve his country he wouldnt be caught up in this, being a dumbass is not the same as being mentally ill. to this day, he brags about how tough he is because of this.

John is not a monster. It was many outside influences, like John's ex wife Kylie
(a heroin addict) who actually influenced him to do heroin and this hate crime. She actually shot him up when he was passed out drunk and influenced him to continue to use heroin. She was also from Georgia and her family condoned racism. This girl, knowing that John is easily influenced and had prior addiction issues, persuaded him to do many negative things and as a result John ended up in prison and has not been the same since. I actually grew up in the same town as him and he was always such a nice, shy kid. And incredibly intelligent. I love him, and I really dislike the way that people portray him because of that one girl Kylie. John became infamous in Manhasset and has suffered the loss of many friends and even family members. He is brilliant and deserves the best in life and everyone has to realize that everyone makes mistakes. It's what you learn from them is what makes you a better person. And John has learned his lesson. Karma took it's toll on John. Since this hate crime fiasco, he has learned that people are equal, everyone deserves respect and right as we speak he is getting clean. I've been through a lot with him and watching him grow into the person he is now, I'm so proud that we are together and I get to spend the rest of my life with him. I love you my love.

I've known many people like John. Many of my friends are racist because we live in a new era of racism. It's no longer; "We all hate the Jews and Blacks" but more like Everybody vs Everybody, like from that south park episode (awesomeness). John is a close friend of mine and he is a great kid. He was on the way to great success and fame due to his brilliance, This whole problem is not from "a mental illness" but a mental ISSUE. our generation as a whole has deteriorated into drug addicts or just nosy people who have no right to criticize what they don't know. They base their accusations not on their objective knowledge (which is sheer to none) but those of others. John Rocissano is a great person and many of you out there would have done the same in his position. I am and always will be his friend... It's not like he killed anyone.
