Legislator Thomas Barraga has chosen West Islip resident Maria Figalora as a "Woman of Distinction." Every March, each Suffolk County Legislator selects one woman within their district to be honored in celebration of Women's History Month.

I'm sure the lady who that it deserved to get the honor.
