West Babylon and North Babylon are pretty much in the dark. I heard that Babylon may be without power for 2 weeks, don't know if its true but its insane.

" At this time, we expect to restore the majority of customers who lost power by the weekend of Nov. 10th and 11th. The remaining customers could take an additional week or more, excluding those areas where extreme flooding requires coordinating our efforts with local officials.

As of 5 p.m. today, LIPA has restored power to more than 491,000 customers on Long Island who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. Approximately 642,000 remain without power. "

7-10 days becomes two weeks now? Back when hurricane Earl was a threat that never materialized LIPA wasted tons of money. If someone in management decided to take a wait and see approach, that person must never work again. LIPA's outage map is a joke. They are fabricating numbers and not updating the location of crews. Heads must roll.

I see a poster from lynbrook. I also live in Lynbrook. I'm sure that our ever intoxicated mayor is in touch with LIPA and communicating with residents...HA.

I think if we at least got some information it would make it a little more bearable. We don't know when we expect to have power back. Living in the dark in dear that someone will burglarize your home is unbearable. People know that we have no power and so our security systems are not working.
