Not murder???? You drink, you get into your car and drive, you kill someone. What would you call it?
driving drunk is murder

He chose to get in a car and drive knowing it was an illegal act. The person he murdered was not given the opportunity to defend herself against him. He murdered her when he made the choice to drive after he had been drinking excessively.

I am rabidly anti drunk driving. I believe first time offenders should be given mandatory 2 year prison sentences, even when no accident occurred.

That said, this is not murder, it is manslaughter.
If this is murder, then EVERY drunk driving related death should be murder and every drunk driver should be charged with attempted murder.

This reckless individual deserves to serve a long, long prison sentence (somewhere between 5 and 15 years seems about right to me), but he is not a “murderer”.

This is my son all people have a different take on this case. The park way for one has not been change at the exit from the last accident. My son is not a murderer. If they say he didnt care who he hurt that night at the club why did people say he shot in the air and not at someone , that a fulse statment. My son is a people person he would help people every change he gets. My son did not mean to Kill that man. Dont juge other because most of you that give these comments have driven your car a time or two drunk. people do it all the time . They just havent got cought yet. we all should pray for the lost of the family, and my son also .He lucky to be alive. He still young and he has his whole life ahead of him. He a father too and every child needs a parent.

I agree some people do drink and drive and are lucky enough not to kill themselves or others. That said the rest of your post I had to read twice to understand what you were writing. Your son KILLED someone and he needs to pay the piper. I will pray for the victims family. Your kid can go to jail.

there is no excuse for being so drunk that you end up going the wrong way on the parkway. this guy needs to be removed from society for a long time.
