Leaving ANY dog tied up all the time will make them bite. A dog will attack if it can not escape. Dog owners should never leave their dogs tied up where strangers can come up to them in the first place. It has nothing to do with the breed, just the circumstances in which it's been raised or treated.

If you were educated in veterinary medicine you would know how ridiculous that comment is. The only things in any animals "blood" is means for living and sometimes diseases. Bitting is a behavorial problem and behaviors are learned and certainly are not in the "blood." Owners are actually the ones that get trained not the animal. People please don't comment on things you are uneducated about.

bulls get a bad wrap becaus of how they are treated any dog can be vicious and its not in their blood the blood lines are so disrupted theirs so many crossbred lines its crazy but i will say their are a few bad doges that just are born that way and that is what gives it a bad name

well whats funny is that PITBULLS were not raised to fight they were raised to hunt boar,so lets get that right..then PITBULLS are not the problem..hate the BREEDER NOT THE BREED.WE HAVE LOTS OF THEM WITH KIDS THAT ARE IN THERE FACE ALL THE TIME AND THEY DO NOTHING.its not the breed. there are lots of dogs that bite.what about poodles they are mean as hell. think about it.it is easy to say what everyone else says...think before u ask.

This is crazy, some of the omments that are trying to justify that this dog attacked this girl. Pit bulls are vicious dogs, it doesn't matter how they are raised, it's in their blood. If it was my daughter that dog would have already been shot, and I think they all should they serve no purpose.
You are truly an idiot. My brother raises pit bulls, we have a pit bull, my brother and his wife have a pit, their son and his wife have a pit, my cousin has 2 pits, and not one of these dogs is in anyway aggressive (except toward other aggressive dogs). Our Mandy is a true beauty and has the sweetest disposition of any dog I have ever known. She is 4 years old and is indeed a part of our family and we wouldn't have it any other way. You are indeed a racist toward the breed and very narrow-minded.

i owe 10 dogs. 2 are pits, 2 are rotts, 4 poodles, and 4 pugs. we live in the country were they run and play. I have raised them since they were pups. i have to disagree on pits being vicious dogs. The only thing you have to worry about when you see my dogs is to make sure you liked to be licked. oh yea all the dogs sleep with one of my 5 cats.

"American Staffordshire Bull Terriers are not vicious dogs. "

Horse crap. These types of dogs are hard headed.

My friends dog (Staffordshire) has to be put on a leash EVERY SINGLE TIME visitors come over because he won't stop trying to sniff the guests' crotches.

What a PIA.

The big problem with pitbulls, and rottweilers, too, in my opinion, is the fact that when they do bite, they bite VERY HARD. It's not like getting bit by a dog with a softer bite. A bite by any dog can hurt and cause damage and injury, but a bite by a pitbull or a rott can be devastating and even fatal.

a rotts bite is different than a pits a pit has to close a certain degree before it can open his mouth again and a rott just have powerful jowls and i raised rotts for 10 years and i only had one bad puppy and he had to be put down at 6 months

maybe we need to stop putting it all on the pit bulls. right the dog needs put down but at the same time maybe the owner needs put down to for taking a dog that just wanted a good home and turning it in to that. must of these dogs don't get good homes get owners that are to lazy to get a job and use them to to make there money u know it true. so maybe at the same time that the dog is being put down the owner is to. then maybe people will start treating the dog right.no matter what type of dog it is if it does this it should be put down. but people need to teach their kids not to go around dog they my not no or around dog at all with out there mom or dad.

A girl across my aunts house has a dog (yellow lab.) And she hits him and kicks him and leaves him outside in the winter (even at night.)That is bad that she treats him like that. So yeah its not going to be the dogs fault because the dog attacked 2 people already and I even saw both of them. It is the owners fault.
