I'm so glad we're taking such good care of these terrorists. We wouldn't want the detainees to feel bad about themselves and face persecution in their native countries...

1 Ok,i was born in MA. i spent 19 years in MA and my sister went to UMASS Amherst..then i joined the Navy, i just left guantanamo bay cuba with these detainee's 7 months ago, i was there for a year in the camps...and really..someone needs to get a clue with this one. I hope the Obama admin says no to this one, there isnt a reason for ex-detainee's to be given ..and i mean given a place to live in the U.S, especially in MA, i still to this day after a year of hell in cuba dont understand why the U.S holds some of these guys year after year instead of sending them back to their original country for freedom, or imprisonment. This is what happens to ex detainee's, they are under house arrest for the rest of time, they campaign with ex detainee's everywhere, or they go back to the fight...which one will these in amherst do?...now don't get me wrong, before there was about 500 detainees in cuba, now there is only about 250 or so, and most of these guys were just common foot soldier, or in the wrong place at the wrong time, but some of these guys are the real deal and should never be released. |

Amherst, Mass Welcomes Terrorists
A college town in Massachusetts --- could there be any more place of concentrated Moonbattery outside the San Francisco Bay Area?-- is throwing down the welcome mat for terrorists released from Club Gitmo. Amherst leaders are backing a resolution offering the Massachusetts college town as a possible resettlement home for two Guantanamo detainees if they are released from the military prison. The board voted 2-1 yesterday to endorse a warrant article filed on behalf of the two men by the group Pioneer Valley No More Guantanamos. The resolution would require approval from town meeting. It also calls on Congress to lift a ban on relocating former Guantanamo prisoners — even those cleared of wrongdoing — from resettling in the U.S. "Anyone who hates America can't be all bad," said one council member. I may have made that last part up, but you know they were thinking it. After all, it was a professor at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst who said,“[The U.S.] flag is a symbol of terrorism and death and fear and destruction and oppression.” At the same time, a man in Sudbury, Massachusetts has been arrested for plotting to blow up shopping malls in support of Global Jihad. That should impress the UMass Admissions office. |

1 The liberal is usually just annoying but when they put their twisted agenda and political correctness above the safety and sanctity of human life, it's time for the adults to step in and vote these clowns out. |

1 My family has been in Mass for three and a half centuries. Were they terrorist when they practiced biological warfare and gave the native people blankets from the hospital? What about when one of my ancestors was tried and convicted of witch craft? I'd say yes. I don't know about taking in terrorist. They may turn out to be just like us. I do know that hate is in the mind. Maybe we need to stop hating. I also know that 9/11 was wrong. I don't know who is to blame. |

Tom, the thing is, you cannot cure this maddness. This religious fervor which is so intense that they feel it's their duty to kill "infidels". If you have an enemy that thinks death is a reward, do you really want that person in your midst? Not to mention the fact that in Islam it is expressly permitted to lie to "infidels" about what's in your heart until you have a chance to turn the tables/attack them. I can provide the verse, I'd just have to look it up.
Are these guys terrorists or merely combatants that got sucked in or even dirt farmers in the wrong place at the wrong time? I don't know but why would you want to risk it? The extreme left has always thought that talk and hugs and feel good dialog can cure all evil. I maintain - and I am thoroughly validated constantly - that this demonstrates a PROFOUND misunderstanding of evil on the part of the left. |
