Here is a link to a flier at the Iowa State web site. Please print these and put them wherever you can. He's been gone long enough that he could be anywhere, so let's try to get these things spread around the state.

It really shocks me that only one person saw him on the 22nd. If you live in Ames you know how many people there are out on the streets in campustown. Plus he only lived 2 blocks away. Even if he was very intoxicated, I dont see how he couldnt make it home alright. Something is fishy about this situation. I hope he is alright.

I wish all of the searchers the best of luck. I hope his family can stay strong and stick together during this very difficult time.

Which home was he 'headed to'? campus or Grinnell?
there was a visitation for a classmate that weekend, did he leave to come home to Grinnell late that evening? it's not been reported if his car is at campus still...

There were multiple people who were with him the night of the 22nd, not just one. He was not intoxicated and it is still a mystery as to what happened. He lives very near 300 stanton and the path to his dorm is heavily traveled (especially on friday night) Nothing is fishy about the situation, he just disappeared without a reason. The lack of information is due to the fact that there are no leads or reasonable possibilities.

I personally knew him, I went to school with him and knew he wasn't a drinker who 'got drunk' so I doubt it is anything of his own doing due to alcohol. He's a great kid and this is definitely so surreal for me to see him in the news saying he's missing. And I recently talked to our friend and he said his car is still on campus so he did not leave driving.

I agree that there is something fishy about this situation. It has been 2 days now and still we have heard nothing about the general questions that people ask in these types of situations... Where is his car if he has one? Has there been any credit card activity? Any cell phone logs? Is it suspected that he he under the influence of anything? Would there be any reason why he would disapper? Lots of people would have had to see him walking home on Friday night. Did he ever travel home on the weekends?
It just seems that there is a lot of information that should be released by now, but has not been.

You say there is nothing fishy, yet you say no one knows anything. I would say that is fishy. Also the fact that he wasn't intoxicated and is missing is fishy. Do you know he wasnt intoxicated? Do you know him personally? You give a lot of information but I dont know how much to believe out of you since you dont tell me how you know this man. Not trying to start an arguement but something is weird about this. Hope its not another incident like Minnesota.

Look up things about the smiley face killers on the internet, yes it sounds kind of silly, but it is actually very serious. The more you read the more this incident seems to fall into the category. Over 40 college men have went missing and then later found in a lake, pond, stream, or river with a smiley face on a surface near by and a type of graffiti leaving clues to the next or previous "accidental" drownings. It spans across many mid-west college campuses. Is it not pretty fishy that these young intelligent young men are supposedly stupid enough to drown in freezing waters? Just look into it and post your response.

Yes, this sounds very odd. How can you go missing on a Friday night in Ames. If he was intoxicated then perhaps there could have been an accident or something that could be easily explained. I pray that eveything is ok and he is somewhere safe. Being a student myself, this is very scary and I feel very unsafe.

An electronic check of Lacina's belongings showed there has been no activity on his credit cards, building access cards or cell phone since the late evening hours of Jan. 22, said ISU Police Chief Jerry Stewart.

My prayers go out to the Lacina family. My parents were friends with Tom's parents and I'm sure this is an incredibly hard time for everyone. I hope he is found safely.

I pray for Jon and his family. This is werid to me, because a similar case happened two years ago when i was a student at ISU. Back then they ruled out an accident (drowing), but i knew the kid somewhat, and it just didn't seem that it was an accident to me. But i recently heard about the "smiley face killers" which is completely SICK but could defintely be possible in all these young men missing! I pray that it is not the case and Jon is safe.
