I apologise to the family for making light of this, it was a horrible tragedy, she looked like such a nice and pretty young lady

This man doesn't deserve the guilty verdict. He supplied some fun for her final hours and they are making it sound like the poor man strangled her. I have a black boyfriend and he is wonderful. I'm white. Sometimes it seems people don't approve of our relationship.

People in this state are massive bigots. First, it says nothing about dating and if it did what does that have to do with anything? Second, you blame him for her death and give no consideration to her own choice to drink. Grow up and learn to stop placing blame. People need to learn to be accountable for their own actions and stop looking for drama.

AS i recall out on the west coast , there were people who would drug and date rape young people and sometimes try to cover up their crimes by putting things on railway tracks or car fires and such!!!! when things would go wrong...Most people dont die after a simple FUN nite out !!!

Just wait until he dumps you for an even chubbier whitey. One sporting a 1992 Buick LeSabre and 4 shoplifting warrants.

I'm missing information here.

Man buys alcohol (illegally) and shares with a friend. Both get plastered. One uses bad judgement and leaves friend behind to go and get help. When he returns woman is gone, wanders away and gets hit by a train? Is that what happened?

How the HECK is he guilty for her death? I'm missing some serious facts here.

Compared to what some get in terms of punishment for similar deeds, this guy got off easy. That's OK by me because I can't see how he could be blamed for her death or the fact she drank herself stupid. Going out with a black guy is a stupid thing to do for a white woman. He'll end up in prison anyway.

Need to learn to read, it never said "he is guilty for her death" it said that he provided her with alcohol, which he did.

I belive he got the correct sentence for this. First he left her there. That was a wrong move. Second the both of them were drinking and both under age thats a no no and should be punished for that alone. I am sure he is going to live with this for the rest of his life and that is a heavy burden alone.

When you have two people possibly wasted and underage yeah its pretty easy to wind up getting hurt. Why are you talking about the West Coast? People in this state are stupid if you read the news. Stupid actions everywhere. So why suddenly because the dude is black is it an issue of abuse and attempted whatever? Like I said bigots. Highly disappointing. What are you going to think once the Amtrak to Chicago is done and new people start coming to Des Moines to get out of Chicago? "Oh they're black and near the tracks, there goes he neighborhood." Get a brain.

I doubt he'll ever think of it again after paying his fine. Blacks are not know for long term memory - sort of like chimps.

Why does everyone pull the race card for everything... OMG... regardless there was a smart young woman that lost her life, regardless of race or background she made the choice to drink, and get that drunk and yes he made the decision to drink as well.. I don't think he is completley to blame at all they were both illegally drinking and in resort 1 person lost their lives...He has to live with the fact that he probably shouldn't of drank and what he could of done to prevent it etc, so do i believe he deserves time... NO...And to all the racist bigot people remember our President is Black so lets put the racism crap to rest... FYI:i am an iowa native :)
