They'll "increase the search if nothing happens soon"???? And they're waiting for what? Did they honestly think he fell into a snow drift? Can you people say "foul play"?

What part of no clues don't you understand? They didn't say that they have ruled out foul play, they said that they don't have any clues. They are looking for clues.

What would you have done? Used your clue magnet to find the clues? If you are so smart, why don't you call them up and tell them where he is. I'm sure you've had it figured out all along.

We are all praying for Jon Lacina as it has been several months now since he went missing. I know the Ames Police Department does a wonderful job and will work their hardest to solve this tragic mystery. Every parent's WORST nightmare! So sad....

This beautiful boy has been gone nearly 2 months. As a Mother of an ISU stuent, my heart aches about this awful situation, clearly for Jon's Parents and brother. I can't help but be angry about him missing 8 days before his frantic Father called the ISU police to report him missing. Where in those 8 crucial days, did any "Friends" do anything to help? Jon wasn't answering his phone, he wasn't texting, he wasn't in classes, no meal times, his car sat untouched in the parking lot and Jon wasn't answering his door. What Bull..........His best friend is devastated, but did what to communicate with Jon for 8 long days. Any clues lying around were critical the first 2 days.

No, they were NOT looking for clues; they were waiting for the snow to melt. Now that it's melted, they've decided they don't know where to look. Hopeless. This is not the only strange college student disappearance. There is no way to determine which are crimes, suicides, or Dissociative Fugue episodes.
The typical fugue victim is an engineering or computer science major and they disappear after a period of time that had intense study or a major school project.
That points to Subliminal Distraction exposure. VisionAndPsychosis_Net has other cases on the Missing Students, College Suicides, and Dissociative Fugue pages.
