He analyzed television ratings in each of the 30 television markets and concluded the Twins had the highest percentage of viewership in their home market.

Charley should produce Cliff Notes to accompany his column so people like Elvis can keep up. Still plenty of time to go for that GED.

Why on earth would a kid ever come to Minnesota, no matter how good Tubby might be, if he is good enough to play at either Duke or North Carolina and regularly against tough ACC teams? The ACC, of course, is a much stronger basketball conference than is the Big Ten when looked at from top to bottom. Given that, why on earth would a good player ever want to play in the Big Ten with only 2-3 good teams each year and lots of also rans if he is a good player who wants to get better?

Just more proof that this organization has the financial means to upgrade this club and simply won't. Do most fans realize that the Twins generated $178 million in revenues last season???

The Big Ten has not had a team outside of Illinois a few years ago with Deron Williams seriously contend for a NCAA title wherea every year the ACC contends for a championship. Any smart kid disregards the Big Ten for the ACC, SEC, Pac10, or Big East. Tubby is probably okay with that in that he doesn't need 3-5 Blue Chip recruits every year to compete in the mediocre Big 10. That said the Gophers will win more games this winter than the T-Wolves.

If I were a basketball player, I certainly would choose Duke or North Carolina with their winning tradition over the U of M

NCAA Finals the last five years:
Big 10: 3 appearances (3 different teams)
ACC: 2 appearances (both by UNC)
SEC: 2 appearances (both by Florida)
Big 12: 1 appearance
Pac 10: 1 appearance
Big East: 1 appearance

Take UNC out of the ACC, how serious of contenders have the other teams been lately?

The SEC had THREE teams out of 12 get a bid last year...only one got past the first round.

Three of the last five title games had a Big Ten team.
