AB 542, as introduced, Allen. Land use: housing element: regional housing need. The bill, sponsored by Napa County, seeks to rewrite the rules on how cities and counties can prove they are providing sufficient low-income housing stock.

If Michael Allen is introducing anything it should be fully vetted. From the above link:

"That law requires a city or county to determine whether each site in the inventory of land suitable for residential development can
accommodate some portion of the city's or county's share of the regional housing need by income level, as specified, and the number of housing units that can be accommodated on each site.

That law requires specified densities to be deemed appropriate to accommodate housing for lower income households."

How that relates to Vallejo is unclear. I do know that I don't think much of Michael Allen's political alliances.

Accept our fate as a poor farming region. Maximize the entitlements we qualify for. We own it, it's too far gone to turn around. Napa County is right to keep this population out of their county. Let them work in Napa and live in Vallejo. Why fight it? They are here to stay.

NAPA, you can thank Robert Mondavi for the mess you're in, he imported all the slaves you now have running your streets and overflowing your schools.
