As I've said before, her tolerance level to that amount of alcohol was indicative of a great deal of practice. You build up a tolerance like that over a good deal of time & by consuming lots & lots of drinks.

Clearly, hubby has been in self-preservation/damage-contr ol mode since day 1.

Wonder what kind of future that poor little boy has. Pity.

About what kind of future, or about the pity? Or both?

I can't help but feel sorry for little Brian. All because of his mother's irresponsible actions and killing 8 people he will never see his mother, sister, or cousins again. But his daddy has to live with it and someday when Brian is older his father has alot of explaining to do.

Has it been mentioned yet that they were also swingers? Just curious if anything weird like that has surfaced.

Denial - it ain't just a river in Egypt... Unfortunately when her life became acutely unmanageable - she killed people. Most just kill themselves.

I feel for the kid, too. However, as someone who also experienced a number of similarly severe traumas early in life, I can assure you that it isn't necessarily true that all is lost for him. The trick is to keep your feet (and your head) moving forward, not backward. You only get to blame your childhood up to a point, then it's all on you to make what you can of your life.

Yeah. Being trapped inside of that car with that raving lunatic harpy had to be horrifying for those kids. We'll probably never know what sent her off on such a tear. And there are others who know perfectly well & will never admit to it.

What I find a tad curious about this "revelation" is that it's taken this long for this sister-in-law to speak up about Diane's drinking and smoking habits.

What tolerance? If she had tolerance she wouldn't have been so obliterated and driven the wrong way. Even the autopsy showed no liver damage to indicate long term alcohol abuse. I think this was a booze binge that was probably uncharacteristic, topped off with her usual pot smoking. Danny boy knows why she went off the deep end and it's probably his fault and that is why he's covering up.

The revelation was made in the investigation documents, it doesn't say how long ago the woman made the statement. At least she did the right thing telling the cops what she knew when they asked, instead of making a spectacle of herself and making people think she just wanted her 15 mins. Remember, it was "Saint Diane" when this all first happened (which I sadly bought into), she would have had to go against her whole family publicly. There's also more credibility to her claims if their isn't any benefit to her when she made them.

These are statements contained in an initial police report that is only now being revealed publicly. Since then, everybody named Schuler has changed their stories.

At .19, anybody without a high tolerance would have been unconscious. Trust me. Liver damage can take decades. Not showing liver damage is meaningless.

Okay, that explains it. I too recall all too clearly the "Saint Diane," statements made at the time by her family and I also bought into that. I figured "well, they knew her and I didn't so I must be mistaken."
Thanks.
