I would have no problem at all if 2 men or 2 women wanted to be together, that is their business, and I don't care. But when they start demanding to be recognized as "married" so they can be validated and recieve tax breaks and insurance benefits, then yes, I oppose that.

THey are people, but that doesn't give them the right to tax breaks and benefits as if they were married. Marriage has always been defined by the courts as a legal contract between a man and a women. If marriage benefits are extended to gay couples, what's next? I heard a lady from Florida married a dolphin recently. Does the dolphin get her estate if she dies? Is the dolphin entitled to her health insurance plan?

They do have the same rights, they have an equal oppurtunity to marry an adult of the opposite sex. If they choose to not utilize that right, oh well.

you can not take it at face value.
