Folks I was in court today with my nephew. Yes he was senteced to two years in prison for theft but that is besides the point. I heard the Judge Boggs say that a guy was arrested for possession of Ecstasy pills but when the drug was sent to the GBI crime lab the pills came back laced with meth! Then another case came up with a different person and it was the same thing! They announced that it appears that there are people selling ecstasy laced with meth. This is scary. They also said that there has been reported deaths due to the combonation. I came home and looked on the internet and found this from CBC news. Somebody better do something before somebody ends up dead.

A U.S. government drug agency has issued a warning about meth-laced ecstasy entering the country from Canada.

The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, or ONDCP, is warning U.S. health and safety organizations that the drug is making its way into the illegal drug markets of the northern states and is then being distributed throughout the country.

Police seizures of ecstasy pills in the states along the Canadian border have skyrocketed since 2008, a U.S. anti-drug agency says.
(CBC News) The ecstasy-meth combo is highly toxic, the agency says, and can lead to dangerous spikes in body temperature, as well as kidney, liver and cardiovascular problems. If mixed with alcohol, the drug can lead to a fatal overdose. It is often taken at all-night parties and raves to induce a high and sustain energy levels.

According to the ONDCP, 568,220 dosage units of ecstasy were seized by federal officials in 2008 in the 10 mainland states that share a land border with Canada; in 2008, that number jumped to 5,485,619 dosage units. The agency also said that over 55 per cent of the samples seized south of the border in 2009 contained methamphetamine.

Ecstasy use is on the rise, according to the ONDCP's release: 860,000 Americans tried ecstasy for the first time in 2008, up 40 per cent from 2007. One-third of these new users in 2008 were under 18 when they first tried the drug.

The ONDCP also said there have been shifts in teens' views of the drug. It cited the latest data from the national Monitoring the Future Study, which tracks U.S. teenagers' drug-taking behaviour and perceptions. The study found that students in Grade 8 and Grade 10 are now less likely to associate deadly outcomes with occasional use of ecstasy.

Ok...we know the kids need a place...Kmart is out in the open and as a whole, I know some of the kids and they are good ones...Parents, if your kids are there, please just ask them to drive carefully and do not CUT across the parking lot...drive down the "aisles" like it is marked. That is my only gripe and I will get mad if I do get hit by one of them. Then I will come after a parent and insurance...but I am sure you would understand that.

Coffee County should have a curfew...I see NO reason why anyone should be "hanging out" at all hours of the night unless they are working the graveyard shift. This would help stop the "bad" kids and probably protect the "good" ones. Maybe Coffee Mom should offer up her driveway for them to just "sit and talk"....

I stoped by with them yesterday sat there and talked about some of your complaints one thing i found out is most problems come from one or two kids. Did not see any drugs or beer but a couple was talking about going to the river(Which is to me the scariest place around)

I would think that most parents and adults would try to discourage this, but, I see that some parents actually encourage it. I guess because it's a bunch of white boys ganging up that it appears to be okay with you people....if they weren't white....it would be a gang about to take out K-mart shoppers and the damn law would be called every night. But, it's just a bunch of white guys showing off their new 4X4 Chevys and they can race each other to Wal-Mart...whew...now I feel safe.

thats shows how stuip some can be. for your infomation there is blacks as well as whites
hanging out there. my grand children have as many if not more black friends than white. they have always visited in my home, some have stayed for days. they have eaten at my table. kids today do not have a problem with color,it people like you who do have the problem. let it rest. the law gets just as many white boys as they do blacks and girls to for that matter. go visit the jail and do a head count.

as for a curfew,i do believe the kids can not be on the parking lot after the store closes. i could be wrong.

AMEN yes there is blacks that hang out up there my son hangs around all of them and i dont know about them not being able to be up there after the store closes i do know that at times they are up there after hours and has never been run off from up there my son is always home no later than 12

You must not be from douglas or you moved here in the 15 years back in the 60's and 70's there would have been bumper to bumper up town on friday and saterday nights yes i encourage this. Lets make this a black white issue maybe these kids should go around to the block or roundtree center and hang out. Kicking kids is a easy past time most of the ones that i see up there work so i guess what i would like to say is i for one am very proud of the way most young people act around Douglas.

if my child hits you i have no problem paying his truck is fully insured and they are not the only ones that cut across the parking lot there are ppl that have been driving for 20+ years that do the same thing and most of the teens drive a whole lot better than some of the ppl that live here.

Those kids are not hurting any one.. They are pretty good kids. They are out in the open where at anytime a city policeman can pull up there and talk to all of them or their mom and dad etc. Who ever started this thread just needs something to fuss about and for you racist people that always think it is about a color that is just "NonSense Talking".. these kids are not hurting anything at all, and if you think there is a problem with drugs in the kmart parking lot, then you should blame the police because they are right in the middle of the kids in the kmart parking lot all the time. as for the alcohol, teenagers are going to drink in coffee county, what else is there for them to do...it has been this way forever. all you can do is hope that they are not driving drunk. All of you who are criticizing these kids, think back when you were in highschool. most of you are a bunch of damn hipocrits.

i must have missed something. no where at all have i seen any one talking about the block. this is about k-mart parking lot.
i do not think that our teen agers go to the block to hang out. most of the ones hanging there are older. the teens that are there need to be somewhere else. maybe rehab or tied to their bed.
the block is not some where that i would want mine to be.if you know any thing at all about douglas then you know the history of the block.

If there was a place where the kids could go and hang-out,then the kids would not hang-out at K-Mart parking lot. There is nothing for the kids to do.It would be nice to a place for the kids to go without being harrassed by the police, or for hereing people always putting the down by saying that the kids can not drive or the idiots trying to run someone over.The people that makes any commit like that should be looking at the way they drive also. EVERYONE IS NOT PERFECT!!!!!!!!

If you lived in Douglas in the late 70's you would know that parking in a parking lot was some of the best times of your life. We could chat with friends and stay out of trouble. As long as those kids aren't causing trouble....let them be.
I would rather them be there than the alternatives...If you lived in the area anytime in the 70's or early 80's you know what I am talking about. If you didn't, keep your mouth shut.(Unless they are doing you harm!)
