I was checking to see the status of possibly getting some wine and sad to see they are no longer in operation. They made many great wines at a very reasonable price. :-(

When I lived in NC my friend visited Pittsburgh area and always brought back wines from a vineyard there. I loved the Sweetheart wine and decided to search the internet to see if I could find it. What a disappointment to find that the maker, Lapic is not in business now. I am extremely disappointed.

After learning about the Lapic Winery, found out they are closed temporarily and it saddened me greatly since i have many acquaintances who'd love to order from Lapic Winery on the eastern coast. I hope to hear news of a grand opening soon.

As a member of the family, I can tell you that Lapic Winery will not reopen. My grandparents are enjoying retirement while still caring for their grapes. Grandpap turns 85 a week from today!

My heart is broke. Are there no family members that want to run this historic winery?

Various family members have showed interest but most of the equipment was sold off instead of it just sitting there. There's also some legality issues, such as % of juice that must be from grapes grown on site, as well as having a house on the business property. With the place being closed, many/most of the grapes vines have gone bad and had to be removed. Grandpap has made it his hobby though to keep the winery clean for the most part. Maybe one day the tradition will be carried on.

Please thank Mr lapic for me.

I remember when the winery opened 2 miles from my house and was so excited to taste a local B.V. wine. We would buy there often especially for the holidays and were proud to support it for years.

3 weeks ago when I was home from California, my mother and I drove past to see if we could buy some. It was a sad moment for us both.
