Hoopseton man charged with hitting school principal

DANVILLE A Hoopeston man faces criminal charges for allegedly battering the Hoopeston Area High School principal at a football game about a week ago.

I know the guy that hit the principal and he wouldnt have done it unless something was wrong maybe the principal or maybe even school districts should off some kind of restraint techniques instead of grabbing a kid by the throat and leaving bruises which did happen because there are pictures

Sorry but when it comes to your kids you can't let anyone cross that line. If you lay your hands on someone elses kid be prepared to pay the price. i don't care what your professional title is.

Oh yes someone in power like this must have been doing thier job!!! Right? NOT.
I know too well the teachers in Hoopeston think because they have their tenure in. They can do as they please. prinipals inluded. Do you realise what it takes to get a teacher fired after they have their tenure? The school board has to take them to court!!!!!! So it's just so much easier to turn a blind eye to all their crap.
My nephew came home from school in kindergarten with a bruise on his leg. Because he was not sitting straight enough in his seat. So the teacher decided to grab his legs and straighten him up. My sister even called the cops and went into the school with him, Police took pictures and she filed a complaint. You know what happened with that teacher? Nothing... she still teaches there at Maple! So of course the prinipal was just his/her job!! you made a believer out of me. And I have another question for you. Why is it okay for a teacher, principal or anyone else in power to lay a hand on our chilren? If we do we can go to jail for child abuse, Have our chilren taken out of our home and put into foster care. Where another person in power can do with what they see fit to, to our children. Just because someone has the "power" That does not mean they are given the "power" to lay one finger on our children. But,I know all too well. That Hoopeston is one screwed up town. The principal will get off and the father will either go to jail or get INTENSE PROBATION!

my son goes to the high school an I have delt with the princepal and the super and I find that the princepal has a point to tell lies and turn things to his favor I do not trust this man but the school board stands behind them but if you speek up it is hard on your child i know my child is 15 with out a education

I always took this stance and my wife even more so our kids did know wrong. Now they are in there 20s and wont work brought babies home for usto take care of. My wife still thinks they do no wrong, but them kids have to get ot and support there kids or I am leaving her they they do. So just be carefully defending your kids it stops them from growing up! I see that now.

If you are going to go start a fight in school leave your pot at home. Sounds like this guy is playing with a full deck. He is 27, did he have a kid when he was 12. He is sure setting a fine example. All of us can't be prison gaurds some of have to be prisoners!

I know that family and was there that night it was not evan his kid he was defending and the kid swung at Mr Maynard. And Slick as far as your kid goes they did not lie my daughter was there when your kid threw the ball that broke the tile and then the lies started

If you were there then maybe you should of spoke up. No it was not his kid but it was his nephew, and anyone in there right mind would have did the same thing. Me being a mom would hope to hell that someone would help my child in that situation. I know the family better than anyone because I am the family and that was my sonbeing choked. Maybe you should live the situation and see what you would do. If you know so much of the truth then please maybe you should come and talk to me........ I am willing to talk to anyone of you face to face. By the way, the truth will all come out soon, with or without you!!!!!!!!

What makes a differences if he had pot on him that still dont change the FACT that a principal should put his hands on any kid. And that was his nephew that he protected. I hope he dont get anything out of this. I hope the principal gets FIRED!!!

Doing his job how? By grabbing a kid by his throat and pushing the kid into a fence. I think your principal needs to take classes on how not to put his hands on kids. Also,how do u know they are druggies just because people say they are.

OK, first of all the man was not drunk, he was there wachting his kid play ball. Second, How do you know he was half drunk and half stoned, so what are you? His personal buddy. I dont think so. Third, he is not going to spend anytime in prison because what he did was right, he protected his nephew from being chocked to death by a principal that dont know to control his anger issues. First of all all the hating on here needs to stop. And the posting of peoples names need to stop . If you have a problem with a family take it up with them not with the whole town. I found out about this site from the local caseys and the hoopla keeps getting worse. Read the other posts . We should try to make this a better community instead there is all of this crap.
