Window locks arent an option on every car....plus if its an older car its wasnt even an option. Im not agreeing that it is a good idea to leave children in a vehicle unattended but it can happen to those parents who chose to step away from the vehicle with children inside of it. I would bet more kids die each year from bee stings than any thing to do with being left in a car alone.

If I saw a baby in a locked car on a summer day with no adult around, I'd be on the phone to the police. Too many children dying from the heat.
And if you leave the window down--that's opportunity for someone to take your child.
There are times when I've just strapped my 6-year-old into his booster seat, and I realize I forgot something...I unstrap him and take him back into the house with me. For one thing he has a developmental delay and would get a bit freaked out--he's done so when I've been standing right out there pumping gas--and for another, I'm not leaving anything to chance.

Is your childs life or well being worth a few saved seconds or minutes, Mine never were or will never be...Spend the extra time to make sure your child doesnt become a statistic... I have never ever left any of my 3 children alone in a vehicle for 1 second. And that is the Gods Honest Truth. And I have been a Mother for over 20 years!

If you dont leave your child alone, there will be no reason to cry later, what is more important, a few minutes of discomfort or inconvenience now, OR a Lifetime of tears and second guessing what you should have done...Be Responsible, Not regretful!!!

My 7 year old is capable of getting out of her booster seat and unlocking the door. I have two older kids, ages 11 and 13, who can do the same. I will not leave them alone in the car. Too much potential for trouble. I don't see how anyone can think leaving their kids alone in a car is ok.

Are you telling me your 11 and 13 year olds aren't responsible enough to sit patiently in the car while you run an errand? I honestly can't believe your 7 year old can't wait either, or that she still sits in a booster seat for that matter.
