Amarillo suddenlink is so awful now, will we ever get a good ISP?

The price, service, and quality of the connection lately has been god awful. Suddenlink will sell a 100mb/5mb link for a hundred a month, but 5mb isn't enough upload speed to handle the 100mb download which is why their 15mb package has 1.5mb upload, so I have yet to see one person with this package that actually gets the speeds they advertise. The upload link just gets saturated and throttled then the download goes to crap. Contrast that with Verizon which while not great sells a package with 75/75 for 70 dollars a month which you can actually see the speeds you are purchasing rather than just feel good because you have an under-performing fast download and crappy upload speed.

Heck I just upgraded to the 30mb/2mb package, and can only reliably get 30mb at 2am, the rest of the day the ping times fluctuate wildly and the speeds hover around 15mb/756. I'm going to go back to my 15mb plan with the docsis 2.0 modem on the shelf just because it actually had better connection stability.

On top of that suddenlink has the gall to put bandwidth caps on their horrible service? This monopoly needs to be shut down by google fiber or verizon fios STAT.

Just a follow up, the worst thing about Suddenlink is by far the miserly upload speeds they give. Once video call will max the entire bandwidth for the house, hope nobody's phone decides to do a backup, nobody in the house starts playing a video game, etc or your voip call or video chat will go to garbage. Suddenlink upload speeds are 2004 speeds in 2014.

Hi David - My name is Thomas, and I'm with Suddenlink. I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing issues with your internet service. I'd be happy to work with our Management team in your area to investigate this issue. Feel free to email me directly at socialsupport-AT-suddenlink-DO T-com. Thanks,-Thomas
