State officials blast county on audit
The state's Committee on Local Government Finance Thursday scolded Nye County officials for being late on submitting the 2011-12 fiscal year audit and for government departments exceeding their budgets.

And why isn't anyone in Jail for this? If there is no consequences for breaking the laws, then why do we even have the law? Just let everybody spend whatever they want to spend and figure how to pay for it whenever they feel like it; at the cost of the Tax Payer, of course.
Of course we could just give line / item veto for every law on the books, and put them all on the ballot. I'd bet the voters can fix the budget real quick.
