This is a tragic accident, but to charge the driver with vehicular manslaughter is an overreach of the law.

How sad those people, on vacation, have died. Car accidents are frightening...I always worry about rollovers (I drive an SUV), and once asked a CHP about it. He said, if you do start going off the road, keep driving in that direction then slowly come to a stop. This poor french woman woke up and panicked and reacted in a way that caused the van to roll over. I wish she knew what that officer had told me :(

A horrible tragedy: my heart goes out to the families of the deceased and injured. It is good the other vans were there, as that is truly a desolate stretch of road, and cell phones are useless is many places. Help may have been even longer coming.

I agree with Sports Dude...Very tragic...but manslaughter??? I believe that is a bit much. The driver will have to live with this the rest of her life...That will be more than enough punishment.
