Architect hired to design future fire station in San Jose

This is great news!
Emergency Medical Services and Fire protection services will be greatly improved in the Southern part of Willow Glen (Curtner Ave. south.
The WGNA`s public Safety & Transportation Committee and three ad hoc groups worked very hard to protect Fire Station #6 from being closed, while encouraging Fire Station #37 at Lincoln Ave. near Curtner Ave to be built.

This is lousy news!
The city is removing trees and sacrificing parkland while the blight at the corner of Curtner and Lincoln remains, all in the name of saving a few bucks.
Once the larger Fire Station #37 is built, it is inevitable that Fire Station #6 will close, also in the name of saving a few bucks.
