Subject matter should read: Swearing in of drug addict David Thomas, in becoming the new Assistant District Attorney in Altus, Oklahoma.

This man and I use that term with tongue in cheek, took to the world of drugs like a new born baby to milk. He sold off his families possessions, stole what wasn't nailed down, placed his family deeply into debt, left his family with his girlfriend in tow, is arrested and spends time behind bars, became disbarred from the bench, and becomes our new Assistant District Attorney? Have the powers that be, gone mad here in Altus!?!?

Well, I agree with all of your post, except for the part about him being disbarred. He pled guilty in Lawton and his atty got him a deferred judgment. It is now wiped off his records. He was never in trouble with state bar.

Check the American Bar Association and you'll find that it is fact and not fiction. But your right in having said, his record has been sponged clean. If this had been a state representative or other person sitting in a higher office, do you believe this fact would still be held against him?

Sorry but forgot to mention, his disbarment date was June 29, 2006. That might help you locate his file?

I find that real hard to believe when he made national headlines almost 3 years ago, from today. Whatever the case maybe, doesn't change the fact he is a crack head and drunk, who is more then willing to place his personal needs above that of his very own family and community.

The Judicial system has always been a mess for quite sometime. Wouldn’t this man be considered a Felon ?
They do have Felons in police departs but you can pay to have your record cleaned, the nothing will show up, the government, Judicial system. But what can we do as citizens? Mostly nothing, so be careful if you have to go to court, there crooked.

I remember years ago when the courts consisted of a prosecuting attorney and a defense attorney. One would try to hang you and the other would help, you. Now all they have is a prosecuting attorney. The more they send to prison the more money the state gets.

They also have felons as guard working in prison, I know of one working a Alva, well he use to that was years ago.

Your 100% right bigman. Here in small town America, you do run across murders having been let loose along with rapist's, child molester's, a number of felon's, drug pushers and many others. Most often, its not the money that talks but rather the standing you have within the community.

Example, son is waiting for his father to return home. Door opens and son starts blasting away. Come to find out, it wasn't the father who got shot, but it was his brother who he had just killed. He received a life sentence but shortly thereafter, is released.

A 18 year old high school wrestler rapes a female student. The wrestler was to have competed in the state championships so he was never charged. How could he be behind bars and compete at the same time? Oh but his wrists were slapped a couple of times.

College dean comes home for lunch. Catches his wife fooling around and puts a bullet into her dead. Short of the long is? Do I need to say more?

The above cases isn't even close to being the tip of the iceberg. But nontheless, this is something that happens quite often here in Altus, America.

Your saying, why doesn't the local community do something or say something? Well they mostly fear retaliation and so, life continues on without any changes having taken place. For the very few who do raise their voices? They are mostly considered to be crackpots and are ignored. But given time, its the crackpots who rang the warning bell but the sound of it, fell upon deaf ears. A great example of this, happens to be Luscombe Aircraft,(Quartz Mountain Aerospace). Time and time again, warnings were given that the general community was going to be used, just as others had been used for the past several decades. What most have failed to note is, QMA has already filed for bankruptcy up in Kansas and the powers that be here, are failing to take note of that and are now in the process of taking them,(QMA) to court. Kinda like trying to get blood out of a turnip, don't ya think? LOL

Truth in everthing you say. But the word of God tells us in the last days, things will get worse and worse..I notice the more we try to be good citizens, the more were look at as crack pots......lol So guess we need to worry about our family and family of good friends and just let the world go to Hell...
