The President. Everybody I've ever talked to knows who I'm talking about when I use it.

But as we have discussed at length before, the flat tax is the fairest tax and maybe now we can get more people interested in helping themselves and the country as well.
A flat tax is an idiotic idea. Even the poorest person
pays the same rate as the extremely rich. I spend
more on lunch sometimes than most people make working
for a week. My dogs have higher expenses than you do.

Why not have a voluntary tax ? It's the fairest tax.
At least if you advocate that, you'd be laughed at
outright. Progressive tax systems ( you can look that
up ) are the fairest, even Buffet agrees.

What is idiotic is you never read an entire post before you start ranting. Flat tax is the fairest tax. Basics needs such as groceries should be exempt so the poor isn't unfairly impacted. If you had bothered to read you would have seen that! There is a whole underground economy which NEVER PAYS ONE CENT IN TAX. If you make it a consumer tax then you catch this underground economy in the collections side of the equation. We have an excellent example of the ineffectiveness and confusion of our tax code open your eyes and the Educational Class is for free. I doubt you even watched the IRS Hearings but I also have no doubt you already had a strong opinion PRIOR to the hearing.

Buffet agrees with this administration because of what? Can you spell AIG? Buffet is a very poor choice of someone who pays taxes since he has owed back taxes since 2006. But if we had a consumer based tax then he would have already paid his portion of taxes owed.

Another question for you junior, HOW MANY IN OBAMA'S ADMINISTRATION OWED BACK TAXES? The list is long, so now you have your reading assignment for the day.

You don't know what I have or don't have but I would suspect you live in HUD housing and have a ObamaPhone but I would be guessing as I don't know you so I WON'T CLAIM THAT AS TRUE.

As far as dogs go I have 2 who are both in excellent health so my vet says and if you really do own 2 dogs then please take good care of them!

After this last unbelievable revelations of the IRS abuses I'm sure leaning toward a flat tax. For years I know I and some of my friends have wondered if the IRS wasn't playing games and now we know we were right all along!

Good post and I'm glad you confronted 'war' on his lies, he thought he'd be safe because MistyGirl doesn't post often and she already wished everyone a good weekend, chances are good she won't be back this weekend and the little weasel knows it, lol.

Never really thought about a flat tax until Packing Heat and MistyGirl had an serious conversation about it and they have valid points that's for sure. Since both of them have been successful in business they look at things from a different level of understanding than those who haven't owned a successful business.

Your Sat Service is probably more reliable than my service in town. I had to replace my modem and then it was so slow for a few days I thought I'd have to do the whole replacement all over again. Maybe Topix is having issues again?

Terrible abuses. Flat tax would eliminate so many problems we currently have and it would allow businesses to plan for the future since they would know what their liability would be.

Everything is a basic need for the poor, Dilbert.
Are you going to exempt auto license for the poor too.

I too owe back taxes. It's called money management.
If you too ever become wealthy ( I'll not hold my
breath ), you'll learn.

Not much management if you owe taxes from 2006 (as in Buffet case)...how does that help the government 'run' since you haven't paid what you owed?

Again, basic needs and caring for the poor is handled by exemption. Tags/license being raised in Oklahoma making you cut back on cigs and beer?

You aren't wealthy I'd bet on that!

Not too long ago a study was done that said if Oklahomans paid a flat tax of 2% every thing would be paid for. That would be great! We should do the same with federal taxes. Then the govt would know how much they were getting and should learn to budget from that and if they don't, tough shit bc they wouldn't be getting anymore

More sales tax? How much more sales tax? Are you going to raise sales tax on everything I buy? What about the money I have saved for my retirement, I already paid federal taxes on it, are you going to tax that money again? Isn't that double taxation? What if I lose my job, are you going to tax me at the same rate?

Do you see where I'm going with this?

Next time you here a politician proclaiming Flat Tax on his soap box. Ask him these questions. They will either tell you that these things will need to be worked out. Or they will have you escorted to the door because your being anti-social.

Flat Tax is only a topic to get votes. That is why you don't here anything about it when we aren't in an election cycle.

I don't know anything about Warren Buffet's taxes.
I thought personal tax info was protected by law.
But if he is not paying his taxes on time then he will pay penalties and interest. Judging by what Forbes 500 has to say about him, I believe that would be some good revenue. At least that would bring him closer to the rate I pay.
