Why would you use a picture of a rifle for a story about a bow hunter falling out of a tree...doesn't seem like good journalism to me....seems like there is an anti-gun bias

I would like to see law enforcement take away every gun in America from all citizens whether, handgun, rifle, or shotgun.
Anytime, someone who owns a gun, has at one time, had the thought of shooting somebody. I hear all this "bull-crap" from people saying we should have a gun to protect ourselves. This is pure, false, stupid, excuses people use, just to own a very dangerous tool.
Hopefully, in the near future, I hope our Government Cammondo's do an every household search, and take away your guns, that you have hidden.
It will make me feel safe to live in AMERICA again.
GOD BLESS AMERICA

Wow such reaction to a "stock" picture. Its a picture of a dude hunting which is what the story is about.
Take all the guns away? What the hell? I weep for America.

Good point Bryan. It is a stock picture. I was rushing to get the content up and I just grabbed the first picture I could find. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll look for a new one.

Ladyboy, these comments are as outrageous and dumb as something COW PIE or cow dung would post. Or is it that you are an alter ego of the dungster?

I'm torn about the actions of this man.

I'm very sorry that he was hurt, even more that he lied there in what can be assumed serious pain.

On the other hand, the fact that he was hunting alone, without a harness was careless and irresponsible.

If you can't AFFORD to hunt, or aren't willing to do it responsibly...then don't do it. These types of examples are what are children see, and they are our future. I hope he doesn't have children who witnessed this behavior.

Gun control isn't the issue here. They need to stop selling tree stands as they are a terrible menace upon the spines of Iowan hunters.

this has nothing to do with gun safety or guns period. Being a close family friend I can tell you that this man hunts regularly with his children and rarely goes alone. His son found him and I am sure feels horrible that he did not go with his dad yesterday morning. It was an honest mistake by a hard working honest man and all of us are again reminded of the safety precautions needed for hunting. What the family needs now are prayers, not ridicule over guns or hunting stands- three children need their dad.
