Altoona police: zero-tolerance for fireworks, extra manpower scheduled next week

"If an officer observes fireworks or a citizen reports fireworks, officers will visit the scene and enforce appropriately," Matherly said Wednesday, adding that he encourages officers to use discretion on a case-by-case basis.

Half of the town sounded like downtown Baghdad during the last week. The APD was just as inept at fireworks enforcement as they are at...well, everything.
