Off-duty trooper killed in crash

Area law enforcement are mourning the death of one of their own, killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Travis Capen. Our thoughts and prayers are with you through this tragic loss.

He was well know to our family through the AuSable Valley Wrestling program as well as around the community and as a friend who was always there to help in any situation.

This will be a great loss to our community and families.

You mentioned "his brother who is the only one left out of three boys?" Are you referring to Travis's brother's? If so, are there still 2?

By the way. Travis was a friend of the family including our wrestling family. Regardless, of any of the details. It is truly sad anyone has to die so tragically. A family is always left behind and always suffers ones loss.

He left this world doing good to many. Please always remember that. He had a good heart.

How many cops go slow anyhow? That is not the point here. A family is left behind to mourn. Regardless who is or was at fault. In any accident someone us usually at fault. That is about the insurance companies who is going to pay anyhow and who will get the ticket to make the State more money. I don't believe cops are above the law in speeding or talking on cell phones but regardless when this accident happened he was an off duty cop, a citizen, a Father, Husband, Son & Brother and friend to many who he will be missed by and did make his mark in this world by giving back to his community.
