Torture Death Shocks Ill. Town
Banished to the basement, the 29-year-old mother with a childlike mind and another baby on the way had little more than a thin rug and a mattress to call her own on the chilly concrete floor.

What could you possibly do with people like this? Do you think they could be rehabilitated in prison? I doubt it. I'm normally against capital punishment, but I think I might be persuaded to make an exception on this one.

This is a class A example for the death penalty. These are clearly sick, twisted, demented, individuals, that will never ever be rehabilitated. Bring back stoning for these murderers...

These people are sick and should be put away for life or executed. This is absolutely disgusting!

I think we already can speculate as to what will happen at trial. The individuals who tortured and killed the poor woman will all say they were emotionally victimized by Riley and were as much victims as the woman killed. They should all get the death penalty and the prosecution should not allow any of them to plea to lesser charges. What's so disturbing about this is these are women, who supposedly show compassion to the less fortunate.

My question would be: Do they even deserve an opportunity for rehabilitation at taxpayers' expense? Me thinks not! Living, under any circumstances would be to allow the justice system to slap that poor woman in her face, post mortum of course.

God Bless the Death Penalty and all those that support it.
Every individual involved in this case deserves to die. |

Wow...there's never a bottom when it comes to how low people will go.

Don't bother with the legal system. Just lock them up in a dark basement for the rest of their lives. That is where these animals belong. Give them the same treatment they gave their victim. That would be justice!

It is a bottomless pit isn't it... |
|
And now we are going to allow this to further become a tragedy by giving the defendants FREE legal representation.
Lets bring back PUBLIC EXECUTION. This is warranted. |
|
|
I don't think words can really describe how terrible these people are. I'm kind of at a blank after reading that article.
|
|
|
I have no words for the people involved in this heinous act of brutality. Animals! A death sentence would be an act of compassion for these scumbags!

Please stop hiding behind god you COWARD. If anyone thinks god supports the death penalty, then you need a new god. On a side note, now I know where "Law and Order," gets their shows from. |
|
Me thinks you are the coward, hiding behind a fake moniker you call people names? Go to your closet and pray for forgiveness and the courage to execute when it is called for. God does believe in execution, read in your Bible about Soddom and Gamorra, he executed the whole city, the text also speaks of the benefits of 'public stonings'. |
|
|
God doesn't support the death penalty, so does that mean he supports murder and torture of a pregnant woman? Right.
Bring them to Florida, the alligators are hungry and can use some fresh meat. Save humans and the environment all at the same time. Sick freaks. Kill them all. |
|
Don't waste time, and money, on trial. Just execute em! |
|

what I would like to know is- if this woman was covered with burns and infected wounds- how the neighbors could see that and do nothing. There needs to be more avenues for individuals to report suspected abuse. As a country in general we all need to learn how to be more proactive in policing our own communities.

this is appalling, repulsive. how can things like this happen? where were her family or just one caring person in her life?
"This is heartbreaking," police Lt. David Hayes said. "It was almost as though they were making fun of the abuse they were administering. This woman was almost like living in a prison." i think prison would of been much kinder and safer for this poor woman. who are these people and how is it that they were able to take control of this womans disability checks? dont they have case workers or some advocate for people like this young woman who was so callously disregarded because of her obvious disabilty. this is just disgustingly disturbing!!! |

Oh my god, how horrible. I hope someone takes in Dixon's son and is able to help alleviate some of the trauma that child must have suffered. I feel bad for Riley's kids too, they never had a chance at any kind of normal life either and I would bet that they have lots of scars on their bodies too. Riley should not only be charged with Dixon's death, but with endangering the lives of her own children, or at least with corrupting minors.
What's even more disturbing is that Riley worked for an agency that assisted people with disabilities. They should do a thorough investigation on what she did during her time there. I wonder how many other people she had ripped off. |
