From what ACTUAL jurors have told me, it WAS loaded, however, already don't remember weather it was fully-AUTOmatic or not. One (juror), believes it WAS, but cannot say for sure anymore. Physical age has nothing to do with his level of "mental INcapacity" or as most would term as "retardedness". I wasn't there in person to witness the event or trial and have no 1st hand knowledge of them myself, but I DO understand the
difference between 'alleged justice' and executing a "drumhead" to give an appearance of "justice being served". Whenever Justice is 'played' and 'manipulated' in such ways, we are ALL in danger of being 'rail-roaded' under the right circumstances which theoretically a 'jury of our peers' is suppossed to help prevent.
You say manipulated in your statement The crooked little system in trinity did manipulate that situation for "good ole boy" Joe Ned Dean to put another notch in his belt. I would guess with all the murders that are never solved or even investigated that this case was jumped on. When it was searved up on a silver platter.

i spoke in cofidence to an eye witness to this shooting. and all parties involved should have been prosecuted. The multiple boys who the guy was shooting at had been harrassing this guy for some time and had all threatened to jump him at once. I am very sorry for your loss but if you watch all the boys lives involved in this case you will soon see the same kinds of trouble again, because this type of behavior always continues. The Man in question never meant your mother harm and will have to live with it for the rest of his life. The boys who were threatening him were acting like thugs and he treated them like thugs. I know those thugs and none of them are worth the trip to the pen he took for killing your mother who was only guilty of being in the line of fire of a ricochetd bullet meant for someone who will be in the pen beside him in only a period of time anyway.

Afraid you have facts mixed up. You sound more like the killers family than someone who spoke to an eyewitness. Besides there were no eye witnesses other than those ducking for cover, and none of them have anything good to say about the killer other than he is a cold blooded killer and the District Attorney did a fine job prosecuting him.

nope not family....you need to re-read my statement......yes i spoke to the boys that were all in the trailer...ducking and dodging...so yes I think i got the real scoop.they had no reason to lie. and yes they would say he was a cold blooded killer.......but they were also harrassing him and threatened to do him bodily harm. 3 on 1. Stomping is a regular occurance in this cliche. anyway my opinion is secure. and like i said I am so sorry for the friends and family of the decesed lady, because of the actions of some of trinity's finest thugs a mother, wife, and friend is dead. Simple they should have prosecuted all of the boys involved.

Jon, I wasn't there so I cannot say what could or couldn't have happened, I know however that it does take a key and one must be in possession of a key to unlock a lock and unless the weapon was his, which I'm told it wasn't by some of the jurors themselves, he shouldn't have been able to have used that weapon to commit this attrocity and the negligent gun owner should ALSO be held accountable.
My point is ... that a TRULY responsible gun owner knows if his weapons are secure or not, that is a basic elemental resposibility that has been forgotten, overlooked and just outright ignored! You should NOT even be allowed to buy a firearm without having to buy a 'keyed' trigger-lock for it. ALL of us gun-owners should just step back and think just how powerful these weapons we own really can be and this power can't just lay around waiting for the innocent to be victmized by it.
Remember it is tragedys like this one that fuel the radical leftists into wanting to take them away from us, WE MUST take personal responsibility before it is too late!
Most aren't aware that as we speak, the Feds are systematically shutting down gun dealers nationwide for ANYthing they find wrong in their paperwork, including the simplest of errors, like punctuation and spelling, check it out for yourself its a nightmare in the making and most everyone is still asleep on this one. The leftists couldn't rewrite the 2nd Amendment, so they are going after the literal sources and doing away with them, so far they are having nightmarish success using this method and it too must be stopped before it is too late.
Thanks for the input and info.
a keyed trigger lock can be broken in 4 seconds.
Let me share a little info........I raised two boys,And I was raised with Loaded Guns sitting in every corner of the house. Futher more none of them had "gun locks" a weapon is rendered useless when it is loaded and locked. Let me yell at the thief....stop breaking into my home ......wait till i get my lock off so i can load my gun so i can protect my family. I am looking at loaded guns now and a 14 year old boy who will not touch one of my guns unless i hand it to him. I started him when he was old enough to crawl. He sat in the front seat of a truck with loaded guns when he was an infant....He knew not to touch it...When he was 3 i bought him a bb gun. he never touched it....Unless i handed it to him.....I taught him to never touch a gun in another persons home. And to run tell an adult if anyone picked up a gun. Any child that ever came to visit my home....I firmly talked to each and everyone of those kids and they knew the guns in the corner were all loaded and would kill look from a distance but not touch. If they were interested ask me and i would let them look closer. Usually I got a comment like great and the kid went back to the kids room and played. Only once or twice did some kid ask to look closer. A gun owner has to teach their children right from wrong. A gun no matter what kind it is, is made for killing. Teach a child how to responsibly respect a gun and locks, and safes are not needed.

Very well put. Guns don't kill people only people kill people. Education is the key to it all!!!!!!!!!!

He is no cold blooded killer. He is a baby scared and lost up on the Allred unit. I did some time with him .He is no cold blooded killer. Maybe you should be in his shoes searving 70 years for shooting a weopan and having a projectile ricochet and go through a building killing a lady . Not intending to. Knowing at 17 years old you will searve at least 35 years when you should have been charged with manslaughter, or negligent homicide at best. I have been in the depths of his TDC hell. Have you? He will never come home. I highly doubt that he makes it a few years. Just a scared rabbit locked in a cage hoping Daddy will come get him and take him home....

Like i said before if those boys hadn't threatened him it would not have happened at all. those boys are known to gangup on others in the past.

I only knew of the case on the day the verdict came in. I met the kids months after the shooting and i ONLY KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE TODL ME ABOUT THE TIMES THEY KICKED OTHER PEOPLES ASSES. 2 OR 3 OR 4 ON 1. i ONLY hope like i said earlier for you to watch those kids that sat on the witness stand and see how long it is before one of them ends up on the other side of the prosecution.

alligators are all over the county, we do live near a river and lake. There was a 13 foot gator caught near Groveton this year. Where do you think all the missing pets have gone?

I believe the gator was in a pond that the homes surround. So he didn't intend to kill the innocent woman and doesn't deserve to go to prison for it? What about the people he DID intend to kill? If he had killed one, or two, or three or more of them - then would he deserve to go to prison? He deserves to be where he's at because he took a life of someone he didn't intend to kill while trying to kill others. Either way he screwed up. And yes, the gun owners should be held partially responsible for their part in it. The mentality of most of the convicts in prison is that they don't deserve to be there. They place the blame on any one or any situation except themselves. They will try to blame their parents, society, the situation, or the victim.

I personally know the family of the accused Thomas Middleton he had some serious mental issues that his parents avoided getting help for. What he did was wrong no doubt about that but all of that could of been avoided if the parents would of done what needed to been done get the boy help. From the time he was little he had anger issues and mental problems. I am deeply sorry for the victim's family none of this should have happened and all of this could have been avoided. I wish ya'll well.
