Duh. I will look forward to hearing that articulation in their defense. There are US Supreme Court rulings that are on our side.
Plenty on the other side as well. Warrantless searches are not very uncommon. Lots of courts hold them up. Especially in states with a huge drug problem.

LOl cops can search without the bad guys permission if they can articulate the reason why they thought a crime was being committed. Its called a probable cause search. Also if waiting on a search warrant would cause a loss of evidence. OK Counselor.
You are beating a dead horse. Primidonna Laura is a Cop Hater through and through. Nothing will change that. She seems to think she is perfect and beyond reproach. Furthermore she is bent on teaching her son the same. God save us from the Lauras of the world.(She's probably a high maintenance "Poodle" too.)

That, oh strange one, is the problem. A cop with the belief that it is his job to put a woman in check.
Cops do love to feed their own egos by putting women in check. If they cannot screw them, then they beat them. Most cops are obsessed with control, insecure, arrogant, and stupid. Why do you think they become cops??? It is the perfect profession to "legally" control and abuse people!

How scary to think that this man lived down the street from us. I just saw a clip of their house this evening on the news and researched it. He was a neighbor. He was a motorcycle cop. And the interesting thing, is that for several months this past year, young teens were hanging out at his house everyday. I thought it very odd since I don't believe they have any children. He also was very friendly with another neighbor down the street who has drug issues. Always stopping to visit her. Scary, you don't know who is living near you. Now I know why the police cars were there the other day!

A person who cooperates has nothing to hide.
And for the record, there is something called a badge number--get it and call the agency and ask to speak with their supervisor/SGT.
Hey that was a good one. I know several people who cooperated and spent a number of years in prison. The only problem was they were innocent. Any more jokes?

Isn't everybody in prison innocent? At least that is what they would have us believe. Any more stories?

Yep, and a judge can and often rule your search illegal and throw all evidence out. They know most of you guys are only bottom quartile high school graduates with some basic training struggling at the lowest levels of mediocrity!

By "articulate" you of course mean "fabricate" a reason?

Loss of evidence of what? Actually, unless they can prove that evidence would be lost, they have no right whatsoever to search a vehicle on a traffic stop and without permission. The correct way is to impound the vehicle and get the warrant.

Let us all hope you are not a cop.

Drugs? Were no drugs, but done properly, if a cop thinks there are drugs, they call a drug dog. If the dog alerts they do not need permission to search.

Really truly hope you are not a cop. If you are head back to traffic stops 101.

In my view a cop that violates constitutional rights on a regular basis (as these alleged cop posters do) are no better than the cop that this article is about. A bad cop is a bad cop - and I've never owned a poodle in my life, but I will always stand-up for my rights.

Your kind will never run over me and get away with it.

He is merely one that got caught. Quite a few posters on this board claim to be cops, and I, for one, believe them. Each answer that has been offered to me reveals cops that think NOTHING of trampling on Fourth Amendment rights of anyone that they pull-over.

Do you really believe that they are better than your neighbor that was busted? If you answer yes, consider why we have the U.S. Constitution and why there is a Bill of Rights. Do cops have the right to violate rights?

Interested in your answer.

Jim Dandy, always remember - cops are there to arrest, not to help. One might help someone now and again, but if they are questioning a person the goal is NEVER to help that person. Also remember that cops cannot make deals - attorneys make deals (state and defense).

We all have the right to remain silent when being questioned for a reason. Too few people understand that right.

Yes. "Fabricate" is a better word. I was just throwing his own statement back at him. I stated the discussed problem to a friend that used to be a cop and she informed me of how it's always done - and fabricate is too nice of a word. It's always good to have witnesses.

I care because I do not want to be your next victim. If you believe that you have a right to pull over a motorist for no reason, detain and question them for an unlimited amount of time, and search the motorist's vehicle without cause and without permission - it is you that needs an education.
That is scary.
You want scary. Several years ago a Navy Officers wife from Jacksonville was driving south on I-95. A Florida State Trooper pulled her over on a traffic stop near Palm Bay. He then informed her to follow him to a wooded area which separates the north and south bound lanes. Once there he raped her. To cover up the crime he then shot and killed her. Later a person spotted the car and reported the vehicle. Hours later the Trooper was arrested and later convicted of her murder.

That is scary. Though I'm not normally a fearful person I always fear a traffic stop. I haven't gotten a ticket since 2004 even though I do not drive any different than I always have - I know how to drive, and in my view the state's ticketing crap is nothing more than a money-making scam. I simply avoid cops at all costs. You never know what could happen at a traffic stop and I know I always feel much better with a witness - less likelihood of misconduct of any type.

Too much power corrupts, and that is a fact. This Clay Adams that the article concerns got too big for his britches by the sounds of it, but most cops become cops for the power of the badge, and many abuse that power. I know that in New York an associate's degree is required to become a cop, but I believe that the educational requirements in Florida are much less - like a H.S. diploma. I think that education does often make a difference in how one views their job and the world, and feel that Florida should raise the bar.

A good percentage are not guilty of the crimes that they are serving time for at any rate. The US criminal justice system is actually one of the worst in the world. The proliferation of plea-bargaining and the abuse of the informant system in the last thirty years has served to eradicate true justice in this country. We are little more than a prison nation, and quite frankly, state and federal prison systems are nothing more than a business beneficial to some and detrimental to their victims.

Does any of this surprise you? Look at whats coming out lately:(1) a paraplegic thrown out of a wheel chair by a cop,(2) a woman shoved down the stairs and falsely charged by cops,(3) 6 cops arrested down south for selling drugs to inmates,(4) a miami cop rapes a girl (5) a Jacksonville cop keeps child porno.. and the beat goes on...and on and on... all of those whispers, rumors, and fears expressed by community members...that cops are corrupt..shut down by other community members accusing them of being cop haters.. are we? Or do these facts speak for themselves? When oh when do we call in the Feds and start to investigate Florida cops? Why must we leave everything to the Feds, or to UTUBE before anything called justice gets done? Look at the SPANKER cop: he had done this previously...but got a mere slap on the wrist! If that you or I... we'd be in jail, on a program, under probationary supervision...and the list goes on and on...

When oh when do we begin to accept the fact that (many:not all) Florida cops are corrupt ... and need to be pulled in by the short hairs..and sent to the prisons they sent others to prison... if you and I set fires..and came back to RESCUE others... we'd be in jail..our Brevard cop? He just got probation w/recog of his past duties and good history...

Ha! You and I? We'd be getting raped daily in the local prison and they'd laff and encourage it "just to teach you and I a lesson!" There is no justice as long as cops are allowed to go their evil way without consequences...

We need federal intervention...nowww...
