I met Alice Hamatie for the first time in 1983 and over the years we kept in touch. I honestly never met a nicer more "cool" older lady in my life. I originally am from New Jersey and we met originally at a wedding that she was a guest at. While I never met her son or his family, Alice was a really really sweet lady. I've not seen or heard from her since the late nineties. We kept in touch until around 1998 and I will miss her. I hope the community realizes the lost that we all have endured.
Say hi to my late husband Sal, and tell him I'll be along soon enough, missing you and your smile!

My family share your pain and your loss Fr. John. Your mom was special. She was very very interesting and always had a good story to share and a smile to deliver. I will miss her. Mostly, I know you will miss her most. When I lost my grandmother in London in 1970, since all this time, my goodness too many years I will never forget her, her name was Khaleefah. Fr. keep strong, never forget her and mostly take this time to reflect and have peace.

My old gin rummie partner is gone. I'll long for those cool nights of playing gin in Mount Pocono with Harry, myself, Gabe, Virginia and Kenny. Ah, I heard about Kenny, that's unbearable. And you'll all be playing in Heaven with momma & pappa.
Missing you Alice,

I knew Mama Alyce as a young man, my mom used to attend St. Georges in Orlando, her name was Vicki Hughes and she passed away some years ago. Well, I am married and have a family of my own now, but I learned so much from Mama Alyce. I miss her already.
