Wow, what a bunch of losers!! Instead of punishinh a charity, why not help her? Code enforcement is good for all, but some of these guys are losers who pick on the helpless and ignore the powerful. How pathetic Seminole County! Get over yourself

I agree it does seem she does some good for the community. However she must still maitain her property regardless what she does as a buisness or private enterprise/charity etc... It does not release her from obligations. It seems we are just trying to get anything we can for free. How does she live, pay her bills, provide food for her own family or is this also provided by the donations? One would think that she would take care of her own house hold seperate from the charity. How does she work that? Being in a residential neighborhood as a charity does not release her of violations, codes, etc... from being adheard to. Maybe an audit of her charity seperate to her own family responsibility's are in order prior to the violations being handed out to make sure things are done properly.

If you watch the news video, as she walks out the front door of her home you can see that the door is all marked up. The front yard looks like it needs some trimming, etc. My 11 yr. old knows how to pull weeds and mow the lawn. I am disabled and can take care of my yard. It makes me wonder if she really appreciates what she has. I have worked hard for what I have and I work hard on maintaing my home and following the rules of the city I live in.

Has anyone actually seen the house? We live nearby and the place is a frickin cess pool. I'd hate to see what the inside looks like.

Clean up your yard, lady. Find another place to store your junk.
Charitable or not, you ARE violating code.

Are you crazy

Things just given to people like this are never appreciated. This beautiful house is going down hill since it was under construction. This lady probably thinks the builders and subs who donated their time and sweat should come and take care of everything for her for free. Another case of welfare.

HHMMMMM since retiring I don't worry about spelling , nor do i worry about punctuations etc... Didn't get me a raise just a heart attack!!!!! You misspelled puntuations. In lehmans terms I'd bet she she gets not only welfare, foodstamps etc... where as we don't, her household gets all donations first before they are sent out. A house given free to them and still cannot maintain the upkeep means something is wrong with that picture. Wow its just unreal.

I'm sure some who get assistance from her are able-bodied people who could help keep the place picked up and neat. She might consider asking some of them to lend a helping hand in return for her assistance to them.

However, I'm sure it would not be politically correct to ask someone who's getting a hand-out to lift a finger in return.

You probably won't visit this forum again, however, you might check two mispelled words in your post. punctuation and responsibilities

She should call Ty Pennington & see if he can straighten it out. One phone call, bad press would straighten out Seminole County. The article says the house is in the middle of a blighted neighborhood? So what if she's got too much garbage? Good greif, the woman runs a charitable organization out of her house, in the middle of the ghetto and Seminole really cares?? Or are they just money hungry??

This woman was given an amazing gift, one which 1000's through out the country would given anything for, and she has treated it like garbage. It started going downhill practically the minute the show pulled out. Running a charity out of it is no excuse for piles of trash everywhere. No appreciation, no respect for the time and expense given, which could have gone to someone else who would treasure the gift and make it last.
For those out there who are in dire staits and get up every day praying for a break and giving it their all, it's an insult.

I've read all of your comments and can agree with them all to a certain extent. I've worked with her for a little recently and can say that I've gained nothing except hurt feelings and empty pockets to show for it. Yes, there are those who benefit from the service but very few. Then there are those who are used to work in her service and are misused and abused. The "homeless shelter" operated on Plum Lane is nothing more than a smoke screen. The residents there can't even go into the refrigerator to get their own cold water in a house where they are charged $125 weekly and can't run the A/C plus they have to give up their food stamp cards for her to shop for them! They eat what is given or nothing at all and if they don't do exactly what they are told they are promptly put out on the streets. Only recently has her yard on Amanda been the receipient of donated lawn service while the so called shelter is not so fortunate. There are even reports of abuse and stolen food stamp cards and other items by the owner/operator and the house manager.
No, her home is not well cared for nor do I feel it is well maintained. There is stuff everywhere and anywhere.
In my humble opinion, she has been given an amazing gift from God and turned it into junk! I could go on but those of you who can read between the lines will know what I am saying without me saying it!
What is done in the dark will come to the light!
