Road conditions have not improved and are causing numerous crashes along the interstate Winter weather returned to the region Saturday,dropping 3.5 inches of snow in Aberdeen by nightfall and up to 7 inches elsewhere in the region. The weather also caused no-travel advisories across the state and caused some Aberdeen flights to be canceled Saturday. Freezing drizzle began around 9 a.m., switching to snow by 11 a.m. in Aberdeen, said Scott Doering of the National Weather Service office in Aberdeen. At least another 2 to 3 inches was expected to accumulate Saturday night in Aberdeen, and another inch on Sunday, Doering said. Read more
