Our View: Patriot Guard Riders out of line at funeral

“Shame on you"...thank you. My guess is that you personally know the family because you know the facts. I don't take offense to the opinon of "greasy long haired radicals”

Sounds like the newspaper people were asked not to take pictures. I have found that journalists care nothing about the respect of others, they only care about getting the story. Good for the members of the Patriot Guard in what they did.

Thank you cavedog. As a proud member of the PGR, I've had the sad experience of facing ignorant protestors and members of the press who were just as ignorant and beligerent. When triple amputee Brian Anderson arrived at the arranged staging area, he was immediately surrounded by TV and newspaper reporters. They shoved their way through the flag line and the news sharks created such a crush that the poor kid couldn't even get out of the limo. The PGR only acts on the requests of the family. If they media was told the family did not want pictures taken, they should have respected those wishes. I'm sure there were other photos they press could have used to convey the respect for the fallen soldier, but as usual the press has to go for the gore and shock to splash on the front page. No one needed to see a casket or the grieving family to understand the story.
