A little known fact, Daddona'also has insurance through being a trustee, because it is better then the coverage he would get from being a retained policeman. And another fact is, under the laws put in by President Obama, last year, they can't deny anyone who already has insurance. In an unrelated note a writer above mentioned the Alsip Kennedy dynasty, that is why, and again this is just a rumor, but it does make sense, the Bryan McLawhorn wants the job.

Their Baaaaak, well they never really left. The cocktail party for the "the Independent Candidates for the Alsip Village Board" asks for a $40.00 donation to their cocktail party, and to please make CONTRIBUTIONS PAYABLE TO THE U.P.A.A which as we all know is the United Progressive Association of Alsip, oh and if you have any questions contact Mary Daddona, so much for being an independent! Now for the rest, did you know that Mr. Quinn makes $103,000 at his full time job, and would make another $75,000 for being a "part time mayor" he can't do both so they want to hire a village manager at who knows how much of a cost to the taxpayers, plus the manager would need an assistant, so again how much will this cost us. Something to think about, that's why our whole family is voting straight AP

You aren't serious about Mary Daddona having anything to do with this are you?
If so, the very little respect I had for Steve is gone. He says he is independent yet passes around everyone's petitions and now involves arguably one of the most popular, well liked persons in this village, Mary, in this mess.
no vote for all the incumbents: Quinn, Kitching, Daddona, Shapiro.
The village hall is a laughing stock.

Yep if you had questions about the UP's fund raiser that was tonight, the invitation say to call or email Mary Daddona and to make contributions out to the U.P.A.A. which is the Unity Party NOT the independent party candidates
I'll have to learn how to scan the invitation so everyone can see it

Just got a copy of the "independent candidates for the Alsip Village Board"
One one sheet is just Quinn and Petzel
One the next card is the 3 trustees Daddona, Becker, and Murphy.
On both it quotes on the bottom that is is paid for by the U.P.A.A which as most of us know is the old UP Party or as it is known now as the United Progressive Association of Alsip
Votes do your home work and may sure you understand that this is old school Alsip politics, business as usuall for the UP. Jim Quinnjust so you understand you will never be 1/3 the man or mayor that Arnie was, and I hope for the villages sake that you never become mayor

Jim is more than 1/3 the man Arnie was. If you look at weight alone, he is 3-4 times the man!

Why was Chris Murphy in the back next to the people selling tickets for the meet the Easter Bunny breakfast, shaking people's hands as they left the Church this morning after 730 Mass? No one had ever seen Murphy at 730 Mass before, funny that he was there this morning after kids roamed the neighborhoods handing out literature yesterday showing him as a candidate for village trustee, this is not the first time that St Terrence has been used or warned about some of their members politicking, on church property just ask Mr Quinn or Mr. Collins, and yet it still goes on.

Who is Chris Murphy, who is Petzel, who is Becker?
Have any of these people done anything in this village before. How about touting some of your volunteer contributions on some of your literature.
Looks like all of these people, both sides are just in it for the money that the trustees make.
It should be a rule that you should give back to your community before the community is required to give back to you in the form of a salary.

Who is Murphy? He is involved with the St. Terrence Men's Club, along with Quinn and some of the other has beens, like Mr. Collins, Who is Petzel, I guess someone the Quinn conned into running, kinda like Becker, who is or was a cheerleader coach for the Alsip Falcons, and I don't care who you are for, now that the trustee's salary has been lowered, trust me they are not in it for the money

Also, the AP candidates have been involved in many things in the Village from being community activists to serving on the Alsip Beautification Commission and putting anti crime policy's into place, plus being Mayor, Clerk, and Trustee for the last 8 years is always a plus on ones resume, especially since we now have money in the bank and a AA Bond rating , and people who really understand, know that schools, park district, and library are taxing body's unto themselves and have nothing to do with the Village of Alsip

Congratulations to the Alsip-Merrionette Park Public Library District on the Grand Opening of the Newly rebuilt facility. It is really an achievement and the Library board should be commended.
It is my understanding that this Library serves all of the citizens of the Village of Alsip as well as those of Merrionette Park and Garden Homes. We all know by looking at our tax bills that the Library does receive a portion of all of our property tax money and so it should.
However, my issue is with the Grand Opening ceremonies.... The Mayor of Alsip was in attendence but was seated in one of the back rows and the mayor of Merrionette Park was not in attendance (was he even invited?) But prominently "showcased" in the first row of Grand Opening participants were some of the political candidates running under an independent banner for election in this April's election. REALLY! this was so improper that it is beyond words. This Library Board of Directors have been elected by the PEOPLE of the Village and they serve all of the people. This was not a POLITICAL function and should never have been used in such a blatant and obvious nature. I would have thought that the mayor / mayors and all the current trustees should have been in the front. To have relegated the Mayor of Alsip to a back row was wrong and rude in so many ways.
Attached is the Library's Mission statement, no where does it mentions political opinions.
The Alsip-Merrionette Park Public Library District is committed to providing high quality service to the public in all phases of its operation. In addition to its general mission of providing information and recreational reading in a variety of formats to its diverse population, the library has determined 4 service responses: Current Topics and Titles, Information Literacy, Formal Learning Support, and Provision of a Secure, Well-Maintained Facility.
