You have received at least three peices of correspondence by mail(I may have received four) explaining how to opt out, the latest from C.E. If you are not capable of following the instructions and filling out the forms call Edison. I know you got them, everyone I know did.

Nope. Haven't received one piece of mail regarding this. Will have to talk to my neighbors. Common in my neighborhood. Common in my neighborhood. <quoted text> The City had a similar problem when they implemented their utility taxes. Some outside the city limits were charged, while some inside weren't. Perhaps there's still some errors, more likely near the borders. If anyone is getting charged the city's utility tax, but didn't get a letter, it's likely the post office. I only received one letter from a third party, and nothing from ComEd. Jim Rossi jprinbox-topix@yahoo.com 07/21/12 08:25

I didn't get anything either. Nothing from a third party supplier OR ComEd. And "Learn the Facts", I know how to fill out a form. I also know how to open and read my mail so stop the smart ass attitude. AND, I also knew how to notify the city.

If I recall correctly, anyone not using ComEd's default provider would not receive any notification. They would NOT be automatically converted to the city's new ARES. It would be up to them to shop around, as they have done in the past. I suspect, the City's deal would be a savings for most people.

Jim Rossi jprinbox-topix@yahoo.com 07/23/12 19:15 Mr. Rossi, since you are very tuned into city hall on this question, do you happen to know how many ARES companies the city went out to bid this change over process with? I notice that you mention it would be a "savings for most people", who would it not be a savings for if it is most people, I really don't understand your point! In fact, in some of your previous statements and your addresses to the council on a couple of occasions, it seems you have now turned your opinion 180 degrees, so did you join the aggregation group? So did the city shop this around or put it out to bid? I really never heard anything until they announced the change over!

I'm not aware of how many ARES the city solicited bids for, but I do know their result was very successful. It's a savings for anyone NOT previously on a special ComEd rate. That is, any normal residential service rate. I happen to be on a special rate and did not choose to participate in the aggregation plan. These rates are things such as time of day pricing, electric space heating, water heating, etc. If you don't have one of those, you're best going with the city's plan, at least until next spring. It's a very complex issue for anyone on special rates. Jim Rossi jprinbox-topix@yahoo.com 07/27/12 19:00
