Is the YDR owner or editor from the LDS? There is hardly a mention of any other group, like the one I heard about while visiting a church--they managed to get themselves into Cuba, worked with a church group there, helped them convert a two room place to one large room for meeting, and gave cash to the pastor plus enough to provide telephone service to them for a year. And they did not "proselytize." This group did not advertise their actions. Scripture does mention that receiving the praise of men negates receiving the praise of God.

Its called a news release. Newspapers are constantly looking for material to squeeze in between the advertisements.

I'm not sure what in the article would cause men to praise the returned missionary. Where in scripture does it say that receiving the praise of men negates receiving the praise of God.

In Aug.2004, I arrived in Lima and next day flew to Tarapota and then Iquitos for a 8 day Amazon trip. lots has happened to me in the last 5 years but I think of my vacation often. I think Peru is one of the prettiest places in the world. The view of the Andes from the air is excellent and the clear skies can't be beat. I wish everyone could see this great country and I would like to return some day.

Peru has the most everything as far as I'm concerned. it is very beautiful as its single women. I married a lady from Lima going into 11 years now. She is catholic, & is more Christain than any I have encountered in America . I think we should leave their beliefs alone., because, we teach them what we know, our christain beliefs, then they come here & see all the nice christains we have that try to harm them, put them down, treat them unfairly, you all know what I'm talking about. but, our missionarys, me included, still travel to various countries, teaching them Christanity, & as long as they stay blind as to what Americans are really like, its ok. We have found out, its the church christains that hurt her the most. anywhere we go, its all the same. Peruvians, beware of Americans! Not all Americans, but many! The Churches of Christ salute you!

I have a son in Lima Peru serving a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints. He loves the people very much and loves doing the Lords work. I would love to one day go to Lima Peru and meet the wonderful people and the beautiful lands that he speaks of.
