The American Fork High School PTSA cancelled a Thursday night meeting after the Utah Pride Center and some Utah County residents alleged a presentation on the meeting agenda would have stigmatized and vilified gays and lesbians. The meeting was to have included one presentation on pornography and another on gays and lesbians by Stephen Graham of Standard of Liberty, "an LDS-oriented educational corporation which exists to raise awareness of sexual activist movements overrunning America's Christian-moral-cultural life," according to its Web site.

>He said his organization doesn't hate gays and lesbians, but rather stands against "homosexuality as an activity and accepted mind-set."<

So what if someone said, "We don't hate Mormons, but rater we stand against their doctrine and teachings."

What a hypocrite. Mormons were persecuted for their views and beliefs and here they are doing the same. As with most christians ,Christ-like love takes a back seat to their hate of those different than them...

Yep, not only that but the very FACT that being a Mormon is 100% chosen "lifestyle" so if they don't like the way they are treated, just don't be mormon.
Funny, they seem to "approve" when it's said about US...

It is time to stop homosexuals from gaining access to minors through programs like GSA.

Good God Will, and that would only make easy access to minors from the likes of you. You could screw them and then go through your "not gay, you can change" program. Start your own religion, I'll furnish the kool-aid!

No you can't. You can BE a mormon and still be confused about what they believe. LOL.

Maybe gays should follow the Black Panthers example.

The "Sons of Ham" ( African Americans) were not allowed to enter the temples because it was forbidden to them- until the Black Panthers said they were going after the Mormons. Then the Prophet suddenly had a Revelation that Hams sin was forgiven or some such garbage.

You'd think someone who claims to talk to God personally could have come out with that Before his church was threatened for it's bigotry.

What a bunch of cons.

Better luck next time mr.

btw, yeah I gotta agree - this "we don't hate homosexuals we just want to make sure everyone else hates them" crap just doesn't cut it. Guess these fundies, I mean Mormons, are too clueless to realize an educated person can see God created every man and wouldn't hate something He created.

Right on, they should all join an institution that is a beacon of God's upstanding morals, where they'll never be exposed to predatory pedophilia...like, ya' know, the Catholic church!

Not at all, I took the Sabre Gold medal in the Wyoming Division when I used to fence. So much for that argument...

"an LDS-oriented educational corporation which exists to raise awareness of sexual activist movements overrunning America's Christian-moral-cultural life,"

So much for the LDS church and it's members being tolerant and accepting of others.

I'm sure it was the same thing back in the day about how Blacks were 'overrunning America's Christian-moral-cultural life' right?

So when will the Prophet have a revelation that the GLBT are people created in the image of GOD?

Don't try to compare the plight of Blacks in this country to what gays are going through right now. The LDS faith allows those who have same sex attraction to hold positions in the church and to attend the temple. Just like heterosexuals, they must be in good standing in the church. The church has never come out against gay people. They have, however, defended their position that marraige is a divine institution between a man and a woman. If you believe that God created man, then you must believe he created woman as well. in the bible it says a man should leave his father and mother and "cleave unto his wife". there is nothing about cleaving unto another man. If you believe The Bible, then you also know about Soddam and Gomorrah, the city destroyed because of, among other things, homosexuality being practiced there.
In regards to the Black issue:
Don't try to compare what's going on now to what Black people have been through in this country. Until your ancestors have been stolen from their home land and brought over seas below decks in filthy ships to be sold like cattle, beaten and whipped into submission, then freed only to be denied a fair opportunity to even get a job, eat in the same restaurant, attend the same schools, etc, etc. etc. Until that happens I wouldn't try to use that flimsy excuse for an argument.

The LDS does except Gays and Lesbians as children of God created in His image. That doesn't mean that they will include Gay marriage as being ordained of God, just because the people involved are children of God. they have the right to believe that in a country established on Freedom of speech and religion. You have aright to believe the way that you feel too. No one should be forced to accept someone else. that is what Dr. Martin Luther king taught. As far as prop 8 goes. there was a vote and the people who were against it simply lost.
