Boy, if I had my way I would ride a horse to work too or have a horse and buggy. The problem is I live 23 miles from my office downtown and I don't think a our government would allow any of us to ride a horse on the freeway and how would the horses deal with thecars, trucks, etc. You can't even try to ride along the freeway either.

I live near 90% of the places I go and use my state licensed electric golf cart for almost everything. I don't frequent the gas stations much but in the travels with my cart I have gotten to know so many friendly people that wish they were not supporting the gas ripoff with so much of their income.

I agree 100% with the brave man, I also think that we need to take care of our own problems here then go and try to change things somewhere else. families are falling apart, people are walking away from there life investments. I am tired of all this talk about how things are going to changed. I'm a single mother of two that can't even afford to go to work now I am thinking that maybe I would be better off at home living of public assistance thats sad. WE THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY NEED TO STAND UP AND SAY ENOUGH!

In my opinion it starts at the top. First our leader goes after Sadam hussien instead of Osama. Now he goes and asks the oil producing countries to produce more oil when the problem is here in our own backyard. How can the oil companies report record profits in the billions while at the same time increasing the price at the pumps. Bush has to go.

Blame the Greens. They stoppped the use of DDT, asbestos,flood control, use of dams for electricity, silicone implants to name a few. All have been cleared from doing harm and we suffer from not using these products.

Pauli;
The world in using more oil as third world countries become industrialized, but the drilling for oil has not kept pace with the demand, so the price to buy the oil goes up.
The greens have prevented oil drilling in the USA for thirty years, and also the building of refineries. Had we been drilling and bulding all along, the supply would be greater and the cost would be lower

Okay, I'll say it one more time. The price of gas has nothing to do with the price of oil. If it did we would REALLY, REALLY, REALLY be whining. Over the last 10 years oil has increased 700%. That's not a typo. Seven hundred percent, while the price of gas has "merely" tripled (300%).

Go Rupert! Very creative way of making your point. It's great when people stand up for what we believe in, Vs just sitting back and complaining. Great Job!

I am and have been battling breast cancer. Now it is in my ribs. Radiation treatment that might save my life is not a option as it requires you to go for treatment 5 days a week for however many weeks the Dr.s recommend. I am 46 years old. I am a single mom who's children have no one else to raise them. I may die because of gas prices. I dont know whom is to blame, but I do know I am not the only one in this situation. I have fought my way through two types of hellish chemo, surgery, and radiation and now might be cut down in the prime of my life over the cost of gas. What about the elderly who rely on meals for wheels for simple meals and nutrition. America is being cut to her knees. What are WE going to do about it???? We are Americans! We can overcome this. We just need to unite and stand with a viable solution. I dont want to die yet, I dont want to leave my children, my life. Sadly I know there will be tragedy and casualties before the government gets its belly full of OUR grief.
