Low End South??? Those are fiting words. There is nothing more low end nasty than Filthy New York .Well, Jersey maybe . Hey, what exit??
Just because something cost s more (rents), it certainly doesn't mean that its really worth it. Rents are ridiculous these days everywhere. The Alpharett -a- tude is taught in the local public schools - Narcissim 101. It comes with the ATLANT- A- TUDE of MORE BETTER; More better than you and what you have. A false sense of prosperity and that others really care .
Farmers used to call it something else ,when they meet someone with their nose in the air- guess he doesn' think...it ..... stink. You get it.
I personally live in Alpharetta Johns Creek and have lived here my whole life, everyone is very kind. the public is not like what they are saying, and will not hate newcomers. We live by some people out of state and they love it. The majority of the people that live here are from the north, and we are not southern hill billy's. There is a reason why so many people from up north live here. The properties are also not going to be as much because they are not in New York City, or in any major city. You are comparing home prices of New York City to Alpharetta GA think of what you are saying. Also life in the south is a lot more enjoyable and not as hectic. Anyways Alpharetta and johns Creek are great places to live!!

Just started looking at different businesses for sale in an around Alpharetta. Now I need to stop and give it a second thought. I hope this is just a few grumpy people stating their opinion's. If this is an indication on how new comers would be treated, think I will look in others areas. Also wondering how you would treat someone from a different state/country.
We all need someone to make the world go around. Love your neighbors.
I have lived in Alpharetta for 12 years, and i love it. the people here are all really classy so you don't have to worry about the hilly billy's here. People from GA will welcome you with kindness. There are so many people here from up north i mean its crazy. they all love living down here. People in Alpharetta are willing to spend the money on specialty ideams too. We are all really nice people here in Alpharetta and Johns Creek.

After 9 years of Alpharetta I am out!!!!!!!!! Alpharetta is boring, has a terrible infrastructure (hence the ridiculous traffic), horrible government, too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, spring sucks because of the pollen, Georgia has 6% state income tax, people are rude (especially the drivers), air quality sucks, I could go on and on... Hello Weston, FL!! So happy now, will never even go back to visit, lucky for me all my friends now want to visit me, since most agree that Alpharetta and all surrounding areas suck!!

Whoever said property taxes are $3,500-$6,500 has been severely misguided. Homes between $100,000 -$215,000, based on 25 homes for sale, averaged out show that the average Alpharetta property tax per year is $2,160, which works out to $180/month.

I live in NJ. We pay $8,000, which is $712 a month, plus a mortgage. That is more than most Alpharetta mortgages in this price range.

So yeah, anyone complaining about Alpharetta should try to live in NJ before speaking.

Please, if you don't like it here, leave and take your bad attitude with you. After reading the comments here, most of which were posted by people who don't even live in Georgia, I know why and how my city changed. Too many people flowing in from too many places because they couldn't hack the economics of living elsewhere. There are plenty of cheaper places to live in the Northeast, the Midwest and the West. By all means, leave and take your own attitude of entitlement with you.

Oh, and by the way, "Mikey"....Just because you come from the arm pit of the south, doesn't make Alpharetta a shining star.
Janpour...I grew up in Georgia and I'm pretty sure you didnt! You must be one of the New Jersey rejects that settled in Alpharetta!

Florida sucks even more filled with a bunch of illegals hell if u speak English most look at u like u have 3 heads I have been in Florida 4 yrs and we hate it! Looking to move to cumming and be around friendly God loving country folk. Nothing to do here but sit in traffic and get bit by fire ants and no sees . They should break off Florida and let it float to Cuba or Mexico since that's all that are here.

I can't stand soccer moms. They're all spoiled gossiping brats. They think their hot driving around in their hubby's suv while talking on their cell phone, with their ugly bob haircut. Most of them have turkey chin, and nasty wrinkles they try to cover with foundation. They're always prancing around the grocery store with their hubby's visa. Talking about they're little ones at home. BELIEVE ME SOCCER MOMS, NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR KIDS AND HOW THEIR DOING IN SCHOOL OR SPORTS. NOT EVEN YOUR FRIEND WHO YOU BUMP INTO AT THE GROCERY STORE CARES. SO STOP BRAGGING ABOUT YOUR KIDS, AND YOUR HUBBY'S PROMOTION, BECAUSE I GARUNTEE NOBODY GIVES A FLYIN FUCK.
I don't no who u are or if u still live in Alpharetta but my husband n I are looking for something either in Alpharetta or in the surrounding area to live n I hope wherever it is I get the chance to meet more people like u cause when I moved to alabama from ohio it was such a change in the people especially the women! I'm a kind of person likes telling it like it is like it or not n believe it or not a lot of people get offended by it n needless to say I wasn't able to make many friends n I really miss that, so just maybe we will meet up one day cause I miss my friends that were the real deal n not all these fake ass so called women that only want my husband !!!!'

I've been living here for 7 years and honestly, the people have only gotten progressively more rude and entitled. I work at a grocery store here, and people expect to be served after my department has closed down, and get mad if I'm by myself and have to take a lunch break. They also get pissy if we don't have something. When I'm out and about running errands, or going out to eat, I see a lot of people treat retail and wait staff very poorly. The housewives come through and treat myself and my coworkers like shit often. Their kids are little shits too, I would know because I went to high school with them. Their parents have a lot of money and they look down on people who aren't as fortunate because they learn an arrogant mentality from their parents. They'll get a brand new jeep or challenger for their first car and then make fun of people who can't afford one. They come through my store to hang out after school, make a lot of noise and leave huge messes behind. I'd move if I could but I can't afford it currently. And as the amount of people with money increases, this will only get worse. I don't mind people with money at all, but the arrogant "I'm better than you" attitude needs to stop.

Terri, you should get your facts straight before thanking Alpharetta for the poor welcome you received. The city that you and your Abbotts Pond neighbors are living in is Johns Creek.

Jet legs sounds like they are likely a jealous, bitter, overweight, financially challenged, less than attractive, single mom or mail order bride..can't decide which. I'm sure whoever bought her, paid way too much though.
..NOW..let me wave my "husband's" Visa HIGH and brag about my kids that much LOUDER!!! I'm a PROUD wife and mom. NO APOLOGIES.
