Ridgeville Christian is not closing or merging with Dayton Christian. We just changed the name from "Ridgeville Christian School" to "Springboro Christian School". All sports, classes ,and activities will be the same. See the new website at scs.cookngeek.com

We need to be giving the facts ..... Ridgeville Christian Schools is closing, the school board voted to close and give the option to families to send their kids to DC or Xenia Christian for the same price as the old RCS rates. It is a group of families that have a total of about 145 children that are trying to start a new school by leasing the same bulding from the Ridgeville Church. All the sports and classes will not be the same as last year for the simple fact that there will be very small classes .... some that will need to be combined if this school is to start up.

You are correct, if God wanted this school to remain He would have provided. It is time for these people to move on and allow teachers, staff and sudents to get on with their lives.

A rose by another name will smell the same...

Just to set the record straight, we were never merging with Dayton Christian and will not be. Our school is a go. Thanks for your interest.

Look. I'm going into seventh grade. I left Ridgeville after my fifth grade year (guess who I am...after a while you might know). I was very sad that I had to leave the wonderful school that I had been attending all my life. I'm going into seventh grade this year, and what is REALLY frustrating me right now is that I can't tell what's fact from what's fiction. The Dayton Daily News had an article saying that Ridgeville was "merging with Dayton Christian." But everyone knows that you "can't trust the press." <--sarcasm
Anyways, who will the leader be of this new "Springboro Christian"? What's the tuition price? What grades might be available? If you plan on opening any time soon, 700,000 dollars still won't be enough. Answer the questions and I'll think about going back, although my parents are controlling my every move and forcing me to go to Springboro Public Schools. |

I have interest in looking into the possibility of enrolling 2 kids in RCS/SCS. I notice that the SCS website is down. Is everything over?
|
|
yes |
|
We had our children at RCS are now moving them to Dayton Christian Schools. It is a quality Christian school with broader programs, but not the close-knit environment of RCS. Given that RCS/SCS is no longer an option, I would recommend DCS as a solid alternative. |

seems like things are still a go. They met and exceeded their financial goals....
Who dropped the ball here? Looks like admin and board really dropped it... |

The SCS website is still down. Is there another website with infomation? July 2 was a deadline to file with the state if I remember correctly.

I would like to get more info, too.

I guess a public school is out of the question. I graduated from Xenia Christian Academy. Maybe some will go there……

It is not over due to bankruptcy as many may be led to believe. It is simply that Dayton Christian moved into the neighborhood and scooped up most of the students. Likely with a newer school and better and more enticing programs and facilities than what Ridgeville had been offering. Simple as that! The RCS is being sold and will likely once again rise to a higher and best use. The RC Church remains and is continuing to do God's work. You should stop by and celebrate in fellowship. Best to all!!! |

This is complete crap- i was a junior at RCS and now i'm a senior at DCS. I don't care if no one ever reads this comment, but the transitions sucks, and still sucks. People call us the Ridgeville "W"itches (no, there's no "w" in our name). This was no merger. Ridgeville closed. Please don't believe what the board members and upper faculty were saying.

I Know I go to Centerville& it Sucks. I wish it would have stayed open but with a new administrator& Principal. many people thought that I had been thrown out from the school but I wanna set the record straight That I was NOT Thrown Out& that I left with a fight. |

its been one year after the closing of RCS and i can guarantee you, that if you polled every RCS student now, over half of them would agree that this year has not only been the hardest emotionally, but also the hardest spiritually. i transfered to a public school after the close and everyday am reminded of "the good old days" and how much RCS meant to me. DCS is not the "christian" school it claims to be. if it were, then why are the RCS students there being called foul names to their faces? constantly feeling like outsiders and not welcomed? not being treated fairly on sports teams? this is not "christian" behavior. as i toured DCS last spring, i was welcomed by smiles from the teachers, and rude remarks from students. if people are wondering why the senior class of DCS is not the united class it should be, they should have looked at the RCS junior class last year. not only were they all best friends, they were a family. although i was not in that class, i admire them for their integrity and being able to put up with what other can hand out, but not own up to.
