Selective Code Enforcement in Cahokia

I have been a resident in the Village of Cahokia for 4years. All I see is and here from our local Gov. is do your part, tells us what you see, etc. Well we have and it is sad for me to pay $1,600.00 per year in takes and going up for what, for me to do the job of a Code Enforcement Officers job. Here is what i see, for me to back charge, send the city of Cahokia a bill for my time, gas to do the job of Code Enforcement. There are houses in District#5 that have been witten up years ago and nothing has been done. Just how long does it take to fix a roof, remove a car or truck, fix a sewer line, remove a tree(s), repair siding???? If you can't do your job or use your head then let someone else do your job and use their head.

cahokia really did used to be a nice town.where your kids could trick or treat,with no fear,because we all knew each other's family.house's and yard's were kept up and mowed.the school's had great teacher's.now,it is just like east st.louis.it is really sad,and i hope for you all still living there that things change,but,i think it is to late.

Ive lived in cahokia for 9 years and I really do like the town. Especially, the school district. I agree that code enforcement is not doing their jobs. My taxes are higher than the people in other towns that have 150-200,000 homes. It is just rediculous. All the businesses are leaving and the taxes are going to keep increasing and we will be force to sell our home.

I did go Vote. Now all we can do is stay on our Government, and make them do somthing if enough people come together and Complain they will have to do somthing, Eventually.

Well I voted and yes I was a poll watcher as well. Personally I hope every one shows up for the next town meeting and show support for Spisak. He maybe young but damn he does feel the pain and shows it for the city........ Seen a lot of the guy and he is more out sopoken than Berman and day of the week. Those that want to bitch and do nothing are the loosers, not those that bitch and do something about it. It is said how many people live in this town and so few voted... HOW PATHETIC IS THAT???

I think they are tring to force us all out of Cahokia. SOMEBODY WANTS ALL THIS PROPERTY IN CAHOKIA!!!

I faxed 7 code complaints to the Code Enforcement Dept. on 7/2, I called today to follow up on my complaints. I was told that they were in Chuck's box (5 business days) and he hasn't picked them up. Theresa said he was on vacation last week. Guess I will call him Friday and then fax a SECOND REQUEST. We will see if I can get any kind of an answer then. You have heard of Nightmare on Elm Street, guess I can become Nightmare on Edwards Street.

I would like to apologize to Code Enforcement regarding my post of the other day. I have discussed this with code enforcement and they are working to notify the residents in question.

are they blind or don't care man, there we have a car in st. joes that is not running sitting on the side up in the yard on grass and has been there for months along with a van paked on the streets for hum since the last snow. where is code inforcment on these. If i can see them when I come down the street surely they can. Drive in each sub and you can see many code problems. Ya they are not super bad but the rules have to stand up or we look like oh wait we already do, but if they would do their job and ticket them and follow up then more would see the rules are concret and starighten up their place, yards, caqrs, grass, junk. I saw mattress in a yard just sitting there getting wet and dirty. Maybe i can apply for the job ya think.
