Firecracker prank in Hermosa Beach was no joke

A Lomita man was arrested when he allegedly tossed fireworks under a Sheriff's Department mounted posse working in Hermosa Beach on July 4, police said Monday.

I think this is a little bit of overkill. If Hermosa can't keep its crowds in check, then maybe it should limit the drinking. I saw at least one guy pee himself on the strand.

i was right there and that firecracker was no where NEAR any of the horses (they were on the beach at the time and the firecracker was on the strand about 10 feet from me) i was startled by the noise and thought it was funny. it was not let off near anyone at all. the cops all went after the guy; what a bunch of crap. NOWHERE NEAR THE HORSES. i actually support cops in general and i thought they were mostly mellow down there on the 4th but this is ridiculous !
