Sixth Graders Pen Poems
Recently Mrs. Kaelberer's 6th grade class from Prairie View Elementary School held a poetry contest. The students were given the assignment to write a poem or rhyme about New Salem. The poems would be judged by the New Salem 125th Book Committee and the students would receive prizes for first, second and three honorable mention places.
First place prize went to Brandi Weiss, second place to Karson Henke. They each received a large pizza from Curtis Rud Oil.
The three honorable mention prizes went to Hailie Doll, Katie Doll and Zach Cofer. They each received a personal pan pizza from Curtis Rud Oil. Read more
