just began reading comments left by others today. very interested. although we moved out of capac for many of the reasons being discussed here our children still attend capac schools.What did Cosens do that has everyone in an uproar? please dont base any comments on the chiefs specualtion. only facts please and those rarely if ever leave the cheifs mouth. hope the man finds his way home from the hospital and for the sake of all residents takes his retirement. yet you'll pay for that too as you've paid for past mijudgements. work, taxes, utilities, services! no the price will never go down. you pay a pretty penny for the lack of all you recieve when it comes right down to it. do as many other smart people in your predicaments have done. move! you have school of choice and the school is really what keeps everyone there. i agree the school is one of the better adventages (in capac it may be your only advantage). yet the school as i see it still has a lot of work to do. it has wonderful educators and great people working behind the scenes. but as always they are just people who also make the occasional error. the town of capac has more drama than many small towns its size. ever wonder why? gossip and people who think they are well intentioned but quite to the contrary im afraid. some of you think another recall is in order. what will this change i ask you? seven people could never make all of you happy no matter the circumstances. the town fights so much among itself that nothing for the good of the community could ever be accomplished. too many of you rely on gossip and heresay to know what justly deserves your opinion and input. most of the time you come to the battlefront too late for any good to come of it. you must stay informed always and not just when things get dramatic and exciting. drama and excitement are two reasons your town will flounder instead of flourish. unless you can find seven good people who have not lived a majority of thier lives within capac then nothing will ever change. you need fresh people with otherworldly knowledge and no bias. to date your council has never represetned these folks. why? because who would vote. and unjust thing if you ask me that you only vote for someone you know and not for reasons that matter to your town. think before you cast your ballots in the future capac, stop and think on who you are voting for and why and what you think they will be able to accomplish for your village. you really want lower tax3es? i talked mnay years ago many times to pat anger who was at the time our district rep. and we discussed how to beccome a city and not a VILLAGE. this is waht lowers your taxes and you still hjave a long way to go. annexation is only part of it. the ball began rolling many years ago but the narrow minded in the community decided to take up a banner for the chief and against the village manager. and a lot of good and intelligent people were recalled because of it. the biggest mistake of your lives. sorry but the truth often hurts. a vary unpopular opinion in ;your parts i know but i made an educated decision in my choice and not a personal one whih always takes the bigger person. if your village ever gets a REAL manager and not just an interim one who cares nothing for your town but the paycheck he gets you will see a difference. i know the money has to come form the taxpayers but for the firswt time in the village's history it will be money well spent i guarantee it. time for capac to move into this century of govt and not reside in the past. i welcome all comments and differing opinions its what keeps us going and makes us human. thanks for listening. i wish all residents the best of luck you're going to need it.

the school has yet to disappoint. our children recieve a good education there and have many friends there. just voicing my opinion to the mnay pople who ive read complaining on this sight about the village council and the village in general. i once had huge hopes for capac but over time you learn to live in reality. you dont seem very open to anyones opinion but your own. sorry i offended you again. sometimes one has to open theire eyes to see the entire picture.

interested here, not judging my own comments and have yet to JUDGE others comments. A few concerns of all the bad mouthing your doing about my Father.
#1 My father was never forced to resign from Pontiac, its called retirement!
#2 Police can talk to kids in schools all they want without their parents as long as they are not asking guilt seeking question...or did you skip that part in the police academy?
#3 If my father had restraining orders against him he would not be aloud to carry a gun, the state of MI would enforce that because thats the law.
#4 All good police officer's get complaints, most if not all are in retaliation of that officer doing his/her job and are usually unfounded and dropped.
#5 Rumors are just rumors...If you don't have cold hard facts then get of your soap box and go cry in the corner. Just like in court Hearsay is not admissible.
#6 The only mistake my father has made during his time as Chief of Capac is giving YOU a badge and a gun to patrol the mean streets of Capac! But im sure God will forgive him for that...maybe!

again people assume alot about identity on this forum. I have never walkedthe streets of capac with a badge and gun. I however did study criminal justice coursework while in college.your term "copper" just shows your tell tale john wayne attitude to law enforcement. i am sure that if you refuse to play the "cop brotherhood" rules it would be extremely easy to get fired in detroit.
#1 Forced retirement? no statement he's ever entered in court states he's a retired officer only that he worked thre. why is that?
#2 he did not simply talk to the girl he pulled her out of class to question her about his mailbox being smashed. whish occurred in mussey twp and therefore a st. clair co. investigation. so he was out of line and acting unlawfully on village time. i hold the school responsible for even allowing such an occurrance to take place. when it comes right down to it he attempted to bully a female child wihtout her parents knowledge or consent. HMM?
#3 someone with a restraining order against him must turn over all his weapons to the state? or is that only if the order is violated and the person is found guilty of such a violation?
#4 not alwys unfounded. remeber the "cop brotherhood" it makes them all look bad which they try to avoid in any way possible. and not all recieve complaints.

Curious makes me sick! I feel for Capac and personally will never visit this website again for fear that I might loose my sanity and my job and take up permanent residence in the state of MI. Now here comes the son of the fallen chief to defend him from afar. He should, but should get his facts straight before coming here to speak as if he knows all in capac while living else where.
First, the chief did pull a child out of class to get information as to who smashed his mailbox in the township. Not quite a capac police matter, last time i checked it is a federal offense to smash a mailbox, but only in capac can its chief take things into his own hands and do whatever he wants to find guilt.
Second, the next time you come into town, stop by, i can give you all kinds of evidence of the chief flexing his self importance on capac residents. He has harrassed me and has gone out of his way to make me feel miserable. It cost me a lot money and time to finally get thru to the chief that he is not the law in capac. I have lots of court documents, legal documents and capac council minutes to prove to you that your father is not that good of chief. There is lots of public records that document that the chief got paid for thousands of dollars of unathorized overtime. His contract stated at that time that overtime had to be approved by the village president. But the chief and his merry sheep got three council man voted out of office before this contract violation could come to light and be addressed. The dumbest thing capac council did was rehire him.

Lastly, I too have family members in the police service and everytime they here what our police chief does or gets away with, they just say glad i am not there. That makes me feel very safe or at the very least nervous as to what is protecting us. I hope the chief recovers from his wounds, but as for coming back to work, he should just retire. But as things go in capac and in the chiefs mind, he will come back to become the biggest marytr we will ever see, and yes there will be sheep here that will go way out to see it happen, and our council will probably let him back to work when the chief's lawyer shows up at a council meeting to threaten a lawsuit if he is not reinstated. What a shame for us taxpayers.

By the way son of the chief, i remember a time when the chief did not get the job the first time, he had a hissy fit in public. People saw this and it should have given us a picture of things to come. I remember not getting a job i wanted, but as a professiional, i went on with my life, not went out of my way to make those people who did not give me the job miserable.

By the way one more thought, the chief is an expert in bringing in hired guns to get him out of trouble that he created himself. Everytime he does something so stupid and the council does the right thing by putting disipline in his jacket, he brings in the hired gun to treaten a lawsuit again in front of the weak council, and like weak sheep they vote to take it out of his jacket.

The chief is an expert at doing things his way and getting away with it because he can just threaaten a lawsuit and all is forgiven and it looks like everyone is picking on the chief, but in reality that is what the chief wants, to rule this town by intimadation. Is this good police work? Maybe ask the citizens of Pontiac on this one !!! Where else can council leaders have two hour lunches and not even get looked at for moving violations by our chief or the department? Maybe some of the town fathers on council have worked out backdoor deals with the chief to assure themselves of safety in the small town of capac.

I dont want to get on a soap box and try and tell everyone that the chief should have never been re-hired last year. But only in capac can we have a chief who can not properly schhedule his officers, balance his budget, write a police report like an adult, investigate complaint without telling the people being investigated what the complaintant is really like and actually signing his own name without the department secretary using a rubber stamp. yes this small town is full of sheep, but only in capac can it be guarded by the fox who knows all the angles.

Sleep well wherever you went back to, looking foward to your return so I can show you lots of evidence not hearsay.
