Wayssouth is urging everyone to come to the public meetings this week and voice your opinion in stopping this destructive roadway across the mountains.

Not all roads are bad roads. Corridor K is needed for many reasons, but primarily to provide an east-west route to our westernmost counties. It is a good thing that the road was moved from Nantahala Gorge area, but there is no reason for it to be stopped entirely. Locals need it, and travellers need it. Industry will never locate in the Robbinsville/Andrews area without Corridor K. Ask the locals where they stand, and they will almost universally support the road.

In my humble opinion a 4 lane road of this nature doesn't belong in this kind of topography. Just look at the rock slide that just happened on I-40 near the NC/TN border.

Im a local and sure dont support the road it will ruin Graham County. As far as industry goes we probaly have more manufacturing jobs per capita as anywhere in the state. It is nothing but a waste of tax dollars. Plus it dont make any sense to route through Rville its way off course send the thing up Nantalaha George!

For anyone who opposes this road tonight is the hearing so go and speak and don't let Corridor K become the trucking boondoggle that it really is.

The public meeting in Robbinsville was amazing. Truly a testament to the character of the people of Graham County and to those who value it dearly. Over 20 brave individuals spoke powerfully about the need to scrap this outdated 4-lane boondoggle of an idea. Two people spoke for it, Melba Millsaps a local and Denny Mobbs a lawyer from Tennessee.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aries

Someone wants to go their own way today and they won't care whose feathers they ruffle in the process. It's a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Cancer, so let them get on with it. The last thing you should do now is to hang on to their coat-tails or do anything else that will make them feel restricted. Make it plain that you've got your own fish to fry, thank you very much. And try not to let it stop you enjoying yourself. Have a great night!
