While watching my son's baseball game, I could not help but hear a bunch of mama drama going on during the nearby softball game. Almost witnessed an elementary school teacher thrown out of the rec. center over a softball game. What kind of example is being set for these kids?

Really? If that's true, it certainly is a shame! It's a GAME for KIDS! Geez! Get a grip moms !...um...Especially if you're a teacher! Raise your standards for yourself a little higher . Lots of kids are looking & listening , who need good examples!

Well can you imagine if this mom had been at one of those beauty pagents! If she gets this upset at a ballgame I bet she would freak out if her child was in a beauty pagent.

I haven't heard anything yet and I have multiple children there. We are in practices still in Baxley. No games until after spring break.
Hard to know where people are really from on here with the way browsers can be set now, so maybe you are from Alma and this is showing up on the Bax site too. THat happens. I am there for hoursfor practice with four kids involved all on diff teams. SO far people have just been coaching their kids that I have seen. I can't imagine what you overheard in a "practice?" And if this was Baxley we are obviously out at the new fields and the bleachers are far enough apart that if you overheard it had to be loud! So maybe it was after I left.
That is unfortunate.
And who would kick them out of the new fields? That place is huge.
Now I will say, during the soccer GAMES last fall I was HUGELY disappointed at the parents screaming profanities at the kids on the field. Elementary age kids. THings like, "if you don't make that goal I'm gonna whoop your a$$ when you get home." Among other things. To 7 year olds. Makes no sense to talk that way. There are tons of kids around and all the parents. No one says anything. Including me. It's sad. But imagine the character of people like that in their home and the children they are raising into adults.:(
Same with basketball. It was really dissapointing again.
I truly hope baseball will be a better experience for parents and kids and we can all keep it calm and help out kids improve. Competition is healthy. Losing is as healthy as winning. All of it can build character if it's handled right. They are kids, they should be having fun building these skills and making memories.
THat's the end of my novel...:)

You know your a damn lie!! I tell you what you have to be listening hard to hear what is going on at the softball field if you are on the baseball field! If you gonna get on topix and talk shit then at least have balls enough to say that you were sitting on the other side of the fence of this SAME softball game!! But hey what do you expect to happen when you let the ex coach of this same travel/rec ball team attempt to umpire a game! But I can assure you that this teacher has more class that the one who started this topic will ever have!!

First off ga 222 you are slap full of shit if you are claiming to have been at the baseball field and almost witnessed someone almost get thrown out of a game on the softball field!!! My guess is you where at the softball game and you want to spit venom at somebody and you are such a chickenshit that you don't even want anybody to Possibly figure out who you are. Here are the facts I was at the softball game myself unlike you (remember you was at the baseball game) there was a couple of BAD calls in a row and the entire side of the team getting the short end of the bad calls was not happy.THE ENTIRE crowd not just the person you are trying to hate on. The umpire (Leanne) took it upon herself to go over and point a finger at one person and say something smart. I don't blame the person you are referring to to stand up for herself. Anty red blooded American would do the same. If the umpire can't make the right calls they must take the heat!!! end of story ga222 and why would your mom name you ga222. I have been around the woman you are trying to put down around the ball fields for years and have never seen her act in any way other than respectfully of those around her. So in conclusion ga222 like I started out you are FULL OF SHIT! Talking out of your butt and that's why your breathe stinks!!! Your are trying to get something started and are too coward to be a man or woman and put your name to it, and the other responders wow and delta dawn why would you even respond to such when you don't have the facts. Was y'all there??? If not shut up if so you know just like I do ga222 is full of it. Have a nice day. See you at the ballfields

Delta dawn We are talking about sports here not a beauty pagent .In sports things should be black and white. Either the runner or the ball gets to the bag first. There is a score being kept. The ball is either foul or fair. There is no grey area. So you comparing a beauty pageant with a ball game is like comparing apples and oranges. But I will try to put it in perspective for you.(to b honest I have no idea how they decide the winners in these pagents) but lets say your daughter spends all that money on her dress and practices her routine for hours to prepare for the pagent. Pagent time comes and your daughter looks great and nails her routine but the judges say she lost points and the pagent because her dress is on backwards. But you was there and her dress was not on backwards. You gonna just take the judges word for a go on quietly?? I think not. You are going to want to talk to the judge about it. And you have the right to do so. Hope you get the point I am trying to portray.

Well, Ga222 you were told about what happen or you were on the same bleachers. I was sitting close by and heard more than one person talking about the call......and in a normal tone. Blue was already pissed because people were on her pretty hard about the call. When she heard what they were talking about, she came to the fence and put her self in that situation. You can't bad ass your way through everything.

I was at the softball game last night and watched the entire ballgame. The parent that was talking so much "trash" should have been sent to the parking lot to watch the rest of the game. If it had been other umpires, she would have been ejected! I was embarrassed for her!! Sitting on the bench cussing with kids around...Yep, that is a great role model. I was right there and heard it all. It is sad when the coach has to go tell the parents to calm down. REALLY??? It is a game. It is supposed to be fun for the girls. The parents are taking all the fun out of the game. I have already spoken to my daughter and told her that people get mad and act childish sometimes and I promised her that I will never act like that, especially when I am there supporting her and her team. It's a game people....grow up.

It's baseball season in Bacon County. Every year it is the same crap. Parents making the games terrible for the children. What happened to supporting all the kids that are playing? Winning is great, but it is not everything!!The children are out on those fields to have fun, not to listen to their parents act foolish. No wonder noone wants to umpire in BC. You could not pay me enough to get out there and umpire a game. Maybe Sharon should put the parents that are causing all the problems out on the field to umpire. Bet they would change their attitudes. Just a thought.

I was right there supporting Tim's team and I think ALL of the girls have "class", no matter which team they are on. Please don't put down the kids. Just because we support the same team does not mean I have to agree with the behavior of some of the parents. Have a nice day!

,not hard to figure out that really and ga222 is same person. You just moved from the baseball game to the softball game in your post to try and add credibility to your false claim. And even better yet now you was sitting right next to her. everyone knew you was full of boloney when you first claimed to be at baseball field and almost witnessed an ejection.at softball field. Keep trying and everyone else hang around cause before long ga222/really is gonna claim to have been playing in the game. Hahaha oh yeah and a parent in the crowd pulled a knife and cut the coach. 30 plus stitches. He probably would have bled to death but ga222/really heard the parent and coach argueing at the ball fields(while she was rite aide ) remember she has REALLY good hearing. And called the ambulance. Thus saving the coaches life. So in appreciation for ga222/really the coach whoms life was saved is giving away free hot dogs at all the ball games for the entire season. This story I just told you has more credibility than ga222 posts. But there enough people who believe everything they read or hear that some suckers gonna be looking for those free hotdogs . People let it die. Nothing happened sorry to disappoint.

I think that really is really ga222 coming back as another poster after she got no credibility with that bull rap that she was at a baseball game and almost witnessed an ejection at softball field.
